Dropped by tonight for dinner and drinks with Erica. Ambiance: dim lighting; I’d say the best way to describe this place is an Irish craft gastropub. Everything is nicely decorated and traditional-looking. Music is pretty decent - mostly classic rock and classic rock covers. Service: hostess was friendly, as was our waitress, but I had to flag her down a couple of times to ask for something. Normally that’s no big deal, but it had been 15 minutes or so without a check-in each time. I’m a fan of the check-in. Was not that crowded at all, either. Selection: probably around 20 taps and 20 bottles. All of the taps were craft beers. Nothing crazy, but they had a good mix of styles including IPA, sour, specialty grain, and saison. Food: very good. I got beer-battered Irish sausage links, she got fish n chips, and we split some nachos. Everything was good. One complaint: the fountain soda I got (Coke) tasted flat and kind of odd. I think they need to check the CO2 levels or clean the line. Value: eh. Kind of pricey. Food, as I mentioned, is very good and portions are enough to fill you up (Erica took most of the nachos home with her), so I guess it’s forgivable. However, it’s enough $ to keep me from going very often. There aren’t a ton of places serving up craft brew in the neighborhood (with some notable exceptions in Fulton Grand and Speedy Romeo), so that’s a shame. Overall: good experience. Good food, friendly service, tad pricey. Service could have been a bit more attentive. They also make you wrap your own food to go, which I’ve never liked, especially b/c the nachos were enormous and it took some effort to fit them into the tray they gave us.
