Visited some time ago. Medium sized basement bar. Not much of an atmosphere was very quiet during my visit. I’ll remember it by meeting ogivlado by accident. Limited selection, 6 taps, one or two interesting beers. Nothing to remember service by. OK I guess, certainly not a must visit.
Basement pub near Oktogon and the city centre. When I was there it was qvery quiet until a bigger group’s arrival, optimal for talking with friends in the company of a good beer. They had 7 taps, of which 6 was the brewer own beers and there’s always a guest beer on tap. The prices are very reasonable, their own beers are quite cheap and of a very good quality at the same time. The service however was disappointing, the lady knew nothing about beers yet acted like she was superior to customers. Otherwise very nice place.
Visited 26.7.2015 - Cellar-like place in a quiet street near a small park and right by an amazing vegan restaurant. No air-condition. Serves the brewery’s creations on tap and bottled as well as a bunch of other craft beer, mostly import. Service is fine, prices are great and you can order a flight. My experience was ruined, having been harassed by a bunch of non-beergeek Finnish drunks. That’s a first in a specialty beer place.
Basement pub not too far away from Oktogon which serves up their own hop-centric beers on tap. Good place to visit when the weather isn’t good outside. Really nice people work there but their English is iffy. Sometimes their hoppy beers overwhelm their imperfections.
Hah, I visited this, aiming for no. 200 place rate, with a friend, and randomly met worldbeertaste who came in later. So yay. As he said, really inconspicuous basement pub off of a park in the middle of Budapest. Inside, yeah, seems cramped, though there’s a bit more space than it seems at first. Got some wall decorations on the "hophead" theme. Hard to judge the atmosphere when you have the place for yourself, soon after it opened. 6 beers on tap (Splash, Trance, White Hops, NoHopLimit, Bitterfly & Fekete Erdő) plus Angry Beast on bottle. Actually quite a balanced selection all things considered, some of them are great too. Good, helpful service, slightly shaky English, but nothing to complain about. Well, not optimal perhaps, but this is still a must visit, now that the brewer seems to have overcome some technical issues - the beers are worth it.
I’m sad to give this place a bad rating since in some ways it doesn’t deserve it. The problem is that this place is a bit of a dungeon compared to other pubs. It’s in the basement of a building. They have six bottle beers: No hop limit, Trance, White Hops, Fekete Erdo, Angry Beast and Bitterfly. Draft changes but when I visited they had five of the bottle beers on in addition to Splash (which is bottled sometimes too). The beers are amazing
