Street corner local. Draught beers from nearby Burton Old Cottage brewery. Friendly service and welcoming locals. Well worth a visit if making a pub tour of Burton.

Can’t believe I hadn’t reviewed this one. Only noticed I hadn’t when I read Johns review. Anyway, used to be one of my regulars when I worked in Burton up to six months ago. Usually three or four casks on from their own brewery. Always in good condition. This is very much a locals place, nothing fancy but friendly. Decent enough place for some own brews.

Brewery tap for Burton Old Cottage. There’s traditional and then there is this place. A lovely locals’ pub that seems steeped, in the best possible way, in the middle of last century. Three Burton Old Cottage beers on cask, so not much of a beer selection although they aren’t the easiest beers to find so worth it for the ticks. The cask ale is served way way too cold. Better that than way too warm, but the subtleties of the flavours don’t really get through. Not a destination but as Burton has a couple of crackers in a relatively small area it’s worth popping in.
