78 Great tap & packaged option, oldawesome bottles & tap-handles on display. Staff dealt with super friendly, nice place. A touch more lighting could be useful |
84 A pretty small bar with some more room on their second floor. Located in a strip mall type of complex with a market next door. We ate on the patio since it was trivia night and the place was overflowing. My buddy got a flight and I had a couple pints. I think they had a Maui tap takeover shortly before we went there as 3/4 of the taps were Maui beers. Service was good even for as busy as it was. The food was tasty but the portions are small. My buddies burger was a little bigger than a standard slider and my poutine was delicious but also pretty small. A great selection of beer, good food, good service. Really nice spot. |
86 Small place, just a bar and a handful of tables. 31 well selected taps and an amazing bottle collection. Flights of four available. Food is pretty much app only, but creative and delicious. Solid service, great vibe. Top beer place in Honolulu. |
78 Before I visited the place I checked their website and noticed that they have a Hill Farmstead beer on tap. Wow! Gotta try that one. I was there 2 pm when they opened (as were quite a lot people) but they had run out of it. The selection in general was rather nice. Service was OK and the prices were in decent level for a Hawaiian bar. |
90 Very nice, quiet place, a bit off the beaten path so not crawling with tourists as is the Yardhouse in Waikiki.Good service, many on the staff know their beer! I went there today specifically for the Haandbryggeriet Dark Force Imperial Stout but alas, they ran out last night! TheMidnight Sun Arctic Rhino Coffee Porter and a delicious Duck Confit "Corn Dog" were my consolations! I’ve never had a bad meal or a bad beer here! THE place to visit for good beer/food in Oahu! |
88 REAL is a "real" find in Honolulu. This is the closest thing to a stateside craft beer bar that I’ve found so far in Hawaii. There was a very nice selection of local and west coast beers that we were able to sample with flights...32 taps available the night we visited...all genuine selections...no throw-away’s. The menu was short but extremely good (as it should be for anyplace with gastropub in their name). REAL should be a must visit on any craft beer tour of the Islands. |
84 The food food and food, oh and the beer. Awesome pub (size is a bit deceiving as they do have an upstairs) with really great, and innovative food - the meat poke was amazing. The tap list was long and interesting, but a bit random, as it wasn’t really organized. Nonetheless a minor gripe. Had lots of stuff I had never seen before on tap and bottles. Good service. I was there for a pub crawl and we had a hard time leaving. Def a must in Honolulu. |
88 Easy to find, located next to the cinema at Ward center. The most interesting beers where on tap, some was not even on the list. Also a solid selection of bottles. Music was not too loud and the ambiance was just spot on for a bar like this. Seems like they constantly trying to get hold of new beers and arrange both tap take-over and seasonal beer tastings. They had a special stout tasting with Southern Wine & Spirits (distributors) the evening I visited and hopefully this will make the pub expand the selection of imperial stouts which was not very large.
In my opinion Real Gastropub is the best bar on Oahu. |
82 Best beer bar in HI hands down. Not a lot of local brew, but they had quite a few of their 30 taps I’d never seen before. And though the bottle list was disorganized and out of date, there were some real gems on there, too. We came back on our way of town. Be warned that they blast the AC in a huge way, bring a sweater. |
84 Duck Confit corndog, Portobello mushroom sliders, and two different poke’s. Very nice food menu. Very offbeat. Small portions but good stuff.
Service was friendly and made good suggestions.
29 taps. Had a Mikkeller tap takeover when I was there and a Goose island tap takeover upcoming. 2012 Bigfoot on Tap?? Got to be kidding. Big bottle list, very diverse, lots of Euro stuff and some nice US stuff. On par with Hashigo Zake in Wellington as the best beer joint in the Pacific. Prices a bit higher than what I saw in Hawaii and compared to the mainland but have to pay to get weirder stuff |
