Formerly the Hand Drawn Monkey bar, there’s very little changed since that breweries demise. The name obviously, but the Bohemian decor remains, as does its cask, keg and bottle selection (minus the HDM offerings). Through a central door on the alleyway street that gives the place its name, this is behind the main vehicular street in the town which the Cherry Tree Wetherspoon sits on.

Visited on Saturday 1st October 2016, the former Hand Drawn Monkey bar has been turned into the Wood St Craft Beer house. Decor hasn’t really changed with 2 rooms, one with plenty of seating, the bar area has a high bar, 6 handpulls and 6 keg taps plus a decent array of bottles and cans. Beer range was pretty good on our visit. Food is available in pizza form, Still a decent place to visit.
