Seemed to come back in the early 90s in Prague, same old type of bar, great atmosphere. 9 beers on tap, from Kout Na Sumave, Herold & Platan. I had only a couple of half pints, Platan Granat and Herold Cerny. Great beers, so much better than the bottled version. The kind of place where you don’t need to have something to eat available. Great service too, thanks to the young and pretty bartender. Hope to came back and have a long stop. Absolutely worth a visit. The only minus is that’s a smoking area, but the rest is fantastic.
A small place with small rooms decorated quite traditionally with high wood panelling, stone floor and old lamps - all making it very cozy. We had a special treat, since they opened especially for us on a Saturday and held a blind tasting for us. As far as I understood they had 9 different beers on draft - I think 6 of them were new for me. Quite a way from Plzen, but worth a visit.
As ogi said, an impressive beer list (their black n/a was interesting) and a typical country tavern look. The tables were just waiting for 4 old men to drink beer and play some card game on them. They seemed to be quite enthusiastic about the blind tasting, and handled that ok. The pieces of brown bread with butter and cheese were nice but I really can’t rate food based on that. The only real minus is a lack of a proper toilet in men’s restrooms. A must visit when in the area!
Now here was a place that had everything under control. Despite a very complicated rating system, the arranged blind tasting was swift and well executed. The rooms were cozy and inviting - as was the staff. Impressive with that many beers on tap.
