Big Spoon located very close to the railway station, 3 min walk actually. 10 HP on at our visit, not bad at all. Beer available from 9, handy for us as we were having a large breakfast here.

Visited on trip to 24 northern counties with OGJ 04.01.18. Large pub five minutes from railway station. Approximately ten different ales on cask

Yet another one of these large Spoons. You know what you get. And sometimes that is ok. Absolutely a decent tap, cask and bottle selection.
Tis one is located just about 5 min walk from The Train station.
But I would recommend some other pubs in this area instead

Standard Wetherspoon. There was some sort of cider week, so about ten cask ciders to try.

Classic Spoons pub interior. The staff was slow even though it wasn’t particularly busy. They had lots of different ciders on at our visit, so we ended up staying longer than expected.

A standard ’spoons, large and open plan, at the lower end of the scale but perfectly serviceable for breakfast and there were a few interesting posters about Richard III. There were ten hand pumps with five of the usual beers and some guests. (Visited 22 February 2016).

To misquote John ’Hannibal’ Smith: I love it when a Plantagenet comes together. And since the bones of Richard III were found in a city centre car park, Leicester has certainly come together: the once dormant tourist industry has sprung to life on the back of the infamous monarch now so closely associated with the city, and who can ignore the top-of-the-table (at time of writing) antics of LCFC, perhaps bouyed in no small way by the city’s success? Well, sorry to disappoint but the Last Plantagenet is just another Wetherspoons: cheap food, decent beer and an instantly forgettable experience. It certainly serves a purpose but it isn’t a place to linger, especially in light of the other delights, both beery and otherwise, offered by the city.

Visited a couple of times, it’s a few minutes from the station, had a good range of well kept beers on and decently priced. This is one of the nicer Spoons, the staff seem friendly and the clientele not too bad either. Handy for a quick beer if got some time in Leicester but not enough to go somewhere better!

Slightly scruffy, run down Wetherspoons close to the Railway Station. Feels like a soup kitchen canteen inside. Slow and slightly gruff service. Didn’t linger.

One of the more "earthy" spoons in Leicestershire. Some of the characters that sit near the door are both entertaining and terrifying at the same time. Service can be slow. Does a good job with the beers, though. And puts some effort into the JDW festivals.
