A mix between the sports bar and the old medieval avern, but a bit too spacey to feel warming. Slightly innefficient service, not displaying the best of knowledge. They are having incredible trouble over getting their brewing license with the city, so hopefully things improve once they get over it. Otherwise, cheap and interesting selection of draught Qubec microbrews.

Wide open place, very high ceilings and well-dispersed tables. Décor is cheap medieval/fake old meets sports bar. Crowd was the usual suburban wildlife too scared to cross a bridge into town. The coked-out waitress who seemed to have no control over the room came running with menus. Beers ranged from great little micros like 3 Mousquetaires, to iffy choices like Microbrasserie du Lièvre. A few offerings I’ve never seen on tap anywhere else. The only downer I noticed was the absence of anything over 6% ABV and a few redundancies. Two cream ales? Two brown ales from the same brewery? This bar will apparently become a brewpub once they have the appropriate permit paperwork sorted out. When Ritalin Girl came running back to take our order, I asked when it’ll happen, she said not before the summer, June or July. We ordered some pints and the nachos with guacamole. Pretty good. Our Beers arrived in shaker pints, filled to the rim and really cold. I’m sure 95% of the crowd here was happy about it, I tend to like to see a bit of head. The pints I had tasted fresh, I liked my pint of D’artagnan, it was better than the bottled version. So my verdict after one visit, it’s an okay Beer bar for this area that really needed a place like this. Compared to the Beer bars in the US it’s way sub-par, but considering this is Québec, it’s a valiant effort, but I like Vices & Versa better.
