56 Decent amount of craft beers on tap and in fridge. Decent priced burgers and chips, tend to be too full and understaffed at times but good service. |
74 Underrated beer bar in the Melbourne CBD. Friendly staff and good, relatively cheap menu which includes the usual pub fare and some thai offerings as well. The owners seem to have tried to turn the place into a hip urban club and have failed dismally (particularly in the toilets!), but what they’ve ended up with is a somewhat daggy yet friendly and welcoming beer bar in a part of the city lacking any other quality venues. There are around 12 taps, usually all of which are Australian craft beer, as well as a good selection of bottled beers. Wednesday nights they have $6 pints, which is incredibly good value in Melbourne. Don’t let the terrible name and strange decor turn you off, this place is worth seeking out. |
72 Have never been to this place other than on a Wednesday. You can’t go past a $6 pint of craft beer. |
76 Visited on August 3, 2013. Took the train to Melbourne Central and walked from there. Going home walked to Flinders Street station, not far, not worth waiting for the tram. My last night in Melbourne on this trip, went to meet up with some mates. This evening they had a metal night from 8 pm and on. Also some special deal with draught beer for $8 or so, the exact price escapes me at the moment. Nice selection of draught beers, didn’t really care about the bottles this evening. Very nice service, and dare I say the ladies behind the bar were rather easy on the eye too. Music was ok, but too much focus on the same bands, they were to mix it up after 10 pm, but I had to leave due to early morning ferry day after. Crowded along the bar, some seating available in the back room. Steps down to teh toilet, not good if you’re not fit for that. |
72 Interesting set of taps, including a few small-batch Aussie brewers. Although only a dozen handles, the bottles run deeper. Excellent service, as in all of Melbourne. |
72 awesome tap selection of local craft. went on a tuesday and got to try all 12 taps for $30 with a bowl of chips thrown in as well which was awesome. friendly staff who know they are talking about in regards to beer. pretty good value and a good place to kick start your night out. |
70 I liked the tap selection and at decent prices you can’t complain. Food and snacks available, daily specials etc. Knowledgeable staff. Horrible name and location aside, it’s worth stopping by to see what’s on. |
