88 I was so bummed when I heard New World had closed. It was the best and most fun wine shop I have ever been to. Great service and the most attractive as well!! |
68 I went there before they went out of business (both locations). They were well-laid out, but the stock was spread out and they probably could’ve put more stock on the floor. The beer selection was solid, but on the expensive side. Service was very attentive and friendly. I went back for more, and found out they were out of business. |
64 Both locations are well laid out (with much more space at the water street location) and accessible (special parking for both locations). A thought out selection, which leans to the medium to less available brews in the area. 3l bottles of Stone and Hopf are priced at a premium. A few rare sakes as well. A decent place to check out once and a while, while at the Ale House or on the east side. |
70 Good place to go for a rare beer, used it to get panil barrique when noone else had any. Staff was friendly and helpful, place is quite nice, prices are ok at best. |
64 Stopped in the one across from Milwaukee Ale House. Tons of open floor space becomes inviting. However, it seems that because of that the prices may be a touch inflated. There are somethings that are deals, there are others that are not. Panil Barrique for $20?? The staff is awesome. When coming in, they follow you to your destination in the store and then ask if they can help. Seemed to be above and beyond with good service. They need more singles... I’ll visit again, but only if in the area. |
54 Nice shop and atmosphere if you’re looking for wine. Nothing stands out in terms of their beer selection, and I found their prices to be a little higher than other area bottle shops. Same thing goes for the new location in the Third Ward, only there they have a little coffee bar (serving Alterra, if memory serves me correctly.) |
64 While mainly dealing in wines, they do have a few coolers and a wall or two of beer. Selection is nice, and staff is friendly. |
68 Great staff at this place, they always greet ya with a smile. Smallish beer selection but it’s well thought out. Like Jason said it’s worth a stop if you’re in the area. |
70 They seem to have increased their beer selection since they opened two years ago. Mostly U.S. micro/craft brews. Nice Avery selection. Good to hit up if you live in or are passing through downtown (i.e. don’t go out of your way). Only weird part is that it is such a nice store, yet they have BMC.... ack! |
