Great Milwaukee Pub. Lots of old Milwaukee beer memorabilia and tons of great beers. Mostly in bottles, just a few taps. No frills, great beers, huge selection.

I’ve been to Bomb Shelter 2-3 times and I’ve enjoyed myself each time. It’s of the beaten path a little (1 block off of S 1st St), but it’s not a high crime area. It’s a fairly tiny place, but they have a huge beer cellar beneath the bar. They have a giant bottle list and about 8 beers on tap. Nothing is overly rare, but they have a lot of solid offerings. You can get most of the old-school Milwaukee beers including Schlitz and Blatz. The overall environment is friendly, and definitely not modern. it is sorta what you would think a Milwaukee corner bar would be. Also, they have a juke box which is uncommon at most of the beer bars I frequent in Milwaukee.

Stopped here after Sugar Maple, and also just recently. This is what a bar should be! Great selection, friendly & knowledgeable staff, and easy to talk to people.

Friendliest place I went to in Milwaukee. The bartendress was terrific, it is nicely lit up. Despite the bar being very buzy, people were very relaxed about other squeezing in to grab a pint(There was no table service). The bottle selection was thought out, as in special additions and the new ones from Wisconsin mostly. Mixed quality in the taps, but also very generous tasters. Pinball machines and baseball and beer trophies decorated and made it very homey. Locals were very giving in directions, beer selection tips. Good time.

Corner bar feel in the middle of the block! Not in the greatest part of the city but rest assured you’ll be among friends once inside. Nice bottle beer selection with some standard tap lines. Take a walk around the bar and get a history lesson on beer memorabilia.

Great beer selection. I was able to try a number of brews that I had never heard of before. Make sure you do a shotski if you’re there.

A smallish corner bar with decent bottle list, but the tap list isn’t anything special. All beer is served in the same type of glass, which takes away some, IMO. They have a tasting club that meets on Thursday which is nice for those getting into craft beers. Food is just snack items.

Hands down one of the best overall selections for American craft beer in Milwaukee, some 320 overall beers!!! Never let down when I stop in. Maybe could use more tappers but that’s being very nitpicky in the face of such an awesome selection.

This is a great bar modeled after an old Milwaukee corner pub. They carry all of the old Milwaukee macros as well as a huge selection of other macros and micros. They also have a bunch of fun old-time food such as hard boiled eggs, twinkies, Slim Jims and just about any pickled food product you would like. They have prompt, knowledgeable bartenders and a bunch of vintage bar signs and lights. It’s a great place to watch a game with the new TVs visible from anyplace in the bar. The Bomb is one of my new favorites in Milwaukee.
