Ok, so looks like the pub closed down after only 3 or 4 months of existence. A quick comment for posterity about the place that could have been since I seem to be the only one who went there more than once or twice. Once in a time was a little pub with a superb interior, big wooden tables and chairs, really warm feeling. Could site between 50 and 75 although I never saw more than 5 people in the place. About a dozen tap of local beers. Beer menu was pretty decent at first (Bièropholie Calumet, B&F Anniversaire, etc.) but slowly the good stuff got replaced by more common St-Ambroise and friends. Food menu was limited but the meals varied and it was something else than the usual pub-fare. I ate there once and had some kind of “new-cuisine” Burrito and it was very nice. Music was a bit of everything and the level was acceptably low. The place was ½ block away from the heart of the happening/trendy area of Montreal but never managed to draw anybody. No publicity at all. Vices & Versa is a huge success and St-Bock is doing pretty well so with a little effort this place could have done well. Too bad.

For the moment, this barely deserves an entry. Its convenient location, just a minute off the hip St-Laurent street offers a contrast with the unpretentious, dark, slightly medieval interior or the place. The beer selection, for the moment, offers 8-10 draught micros from Quebec, but all of them were available in bottle form in the best bottle stores. Stuff like St-Ambroise stout + pumpkin ale, Brasseurs et freres mort de rire+trouille. Not unpleasant beers by any means, but no hunting effort was done yet and the rather shocking 7$/pint will not bring me back before I hear of a deeper selection. This new place, involving an ex-Dieu du Ciel owner, is also rather empty at the moment, I wonder if they had 12+ customers yet. Limited food offering, rather friendly service.
