Beautiful small place with a nice selection

The selection is nothing to brag about, but still the place is worth a visit. There’s actually quite a few fine brews available, but you’ll have a broader selection at several other places in Oslo. But it’s a nice building and a pleaseant cortyard where you at the right time of year can enjoy your beers.

No sign outside. Suddenly the gates open - and you pass the cobbled ourtyard. A few beers on tap. Nice building.

You can’t miss this old yellow building with cobbled courtyard. Nice place, in a not so cosy street. Not a mind-blowing selection on tap, but still a great place to enjoy a beer or two, before heading to the Grunerløkka district or the parallel street Torggata. (Visited December 5th 2014)

Visited in 2012. It was filled with beer geeks and people in the industry. Both brewers, brewery owners and bartenders. Some brewers from Birra Baladin was there as well. Nice atmosphere. Small but nice selection of beers.

A nice place located just near the city center. The beer garden is quite big with wood tables. The selection on tap is not quite big (I spotted 3 craft beers from Norway micro and one from Brewfist, Italy). Quite wide selection of bottles. The staff is very kind. Price in line with other places in Oslo, so maybe more expensive than the average european beer price. Btw worth the visit.

Gaasa is a relatively new place, in a very old building. Right in the middle of mid-town in Oslo, the building has a long history, but haven’t been accessible to the general public for a long long time. A bar with a pool table and a couple of separate rooms, it is flanked on either side by a courtyard with outdoor seating. It all works like a quiet oasis in the middle of a busy street. The beers on tap is usually the regular fair (Frydenlund pilsner) and a couple of guest beers. Usually they have the lovely Gaasa IPA here, brewed a few hundred meters away at Schouskjelleren Mikrobryggeri. The bottled beers aren’t that many, but they change them quite often. I really recommend Gaasa, just a pitty they don’t do food (however, they are quite ok with b.y.o.)

I stopped by early inthe evening mid Mqrch to have their indigenous Gaasa IPA only to find a nice selection of beers on bottles and 4 beers on tap including their own made by Schouskjelleren not far away. They were playing cool jazz and the mood was relaxed. I see quite a summer potential here given their front yard patio. Nice place.
