52 Was in Rotterdam for a couple hours, so stopped by here since it was the closest to a train station. Fair, at best. Decent selection, but I probably should have risked getting to De Molen. |
38 Avoid this place. Yes, they serve beer, quite a lot of beer actually, but nothing special. The staff does not know anything about it. Friendly poeople, mostly, but in the wrong place. Food is nothing special at best. Ambiance is fine on busy evenings, so they won’t need me for that. I know where to get real beer in Rotterdam and that is not here. |
32 I don’t know what has happened but there was only couple of taps and no more than 20 different beers in bottles. Absolutely nothing interesting. Taps were the most common Lagers/Pilseners. No beer list. Patio and place itself are very big. They also serve food (didn’t try). No need to visit if you’re looking for something good (beer). |
72 good pub, big and dark inside, terrace near the water... selection is a bit slim but they do have westvleteren sometimes (although not for ’sale’ offcourse)... ate there once, was pretty ok... |
64 A good place for a beer during the week. Is located behind the Blaak train and tram station. Good beer and friends makes this place even better. |
50 Went there beginning august on a rainy day. Shabby interior with very loud music. Nice beerselection (on paper - not up to date (straffe Hendrik)). The girl who served us was friendly. We whished we only drank the beer (Westmalle tripple, Duchesse d B), because the food is just horrid. Although the menu is very cheap, there is no excuse to serve something like this: old and cold. Drink a beer, don’t eat the food! |
78 Clean, classical continental bar, with polished surfaces all around. Great location, in the shadow of the Blaak cubehouses. This has a solid selection of Belgian and German beers, with a good few on draught and plenty of bottles in the fridges. Nice atmosphere, good service. |
72 This was chaos during World cup time. Well staffed, decent menu and well set out with a long bar taking up the majority of one side, kitchen in back and a three tiered floor-plan. Outdoor seating over-looking the docks was available, but during my visit to the other ’Dam it was bitterly cold, windy and above all teeming with rain outside. Becomes dim, lowly lit as the evening roles in and the young, trendy, twenty somethings finish work and crowd the bar. I did like the place. Not for serious beer drinkers the crowd was atleast lively, friendly and spoke a decent amount of English to make me welcome. Then there is the beer, the reason I’m here. Managed 10-15 ratings in two evenings, a long list that they keep well stocked so I never had a ’sorry, we don’t have that!’ reply come my way. Watched Australia v. Croatia here, got merrily arsed and had a decent, tasty meal. Not bad I say. |
30 Located at the ugliest square in Rotterdam. Staff was bit poshy youngster, who tried to tell me that Hoegaarden was Dutch. Beer selection is not that bad, but not spectacular. Better walk to Locus Publicus. |
