54 My top place in Shrewsbury. Oh, that's my top place to stay, not to drink, the room was a very decent price and it was quiet and comfortable too! The pub itself was infested by metastatised craftitis, there was craftbeer craftbeer everywhere, nor any drop to drink. Craftbeer, craftbeer everywhere, those toilets sure did stink. At least we could run away with a bottle to catch our train. I'm sure this provides the kraft ticks, but I'd much rather have a well-made twiggy bitter. Staff were fine, no complaints there. Prices quite crafty too, but resident/take-away discount only made them a complete rip-off (when you consider how much we drainpoured). |
72 Hmmm this one is also a contender for a top three spot
Ok it is a really Gin place. But the bottle/can selection is really god!
Small pub located at the hotel just across the street when you are at the train station
Also a decent tap selection

74 Visited on 11th June 2019, rained all day! You have to walk through the Snug to get into the main room and bar; nice decor with a pleasant feel to the whole place. Nine keg lines, one of which is a cider, two are regular lagers and the other six are changing 'craft beers'. They also have one hand-pull and loads of Gin. Didn't check out the bottles and cans, no beer menu's to see either. Friendly lass behind the bar and my two beers were fine, another good pub in Shrewsbury, |
70 Visited on 31st December 2018. 2 roomed trad looking place over the road from the station. Focus is on gin with 4 guest craft beers and a decent range in the fridge. Decor is smart and modern. Prices decent. Service good. Nice place. |
68 A traditional-modern gin and craft beer bar. Extensive Gin menu with of over 200 variants. The nine beers on the taps are joined by a good range of canned and bottled craft beers in the fridges behind the bar. They do third tasters of their tap ales. A rather cozy place right on the other side of the railway station. Polite service. Classic soul music from Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin at our stay. (Visited with Finn 05.10.2018). |
72 Small modern craft pub. 1 cask. 9 kegs a lot of things in the cupboards. Some surprise finds. |
82 Combined craft beer bar and hotel, next to the train station. Got to have the best selection in Shrewsbury. 9 taps, 6 which are rotating. About 70 cans/bottles. Mostly UK craft, Beavertown, Tiny Rebel, Cloudwater and the like. Also a big selection of gin. Nice craftbeerbar-y interior, nice service. A bit slow when I visited on a Sunday and Monday, but a lot of promise. |
