52 Perhaps one of the more curiously named pubs in the country given it refers to a lesser known battle in the American wars of independence. It’s located along the Halifax road towards Hebden Bridge, just up the hill from the petrol station. This pub is a locals bar with a main side and a games room that also includes a large screen television. It’s open plan but these two are distinct sides of the same pub, but without any decoration to shout about.. The bar has a range of keg beers and lagers including the seldom seen Manns Chestnut Mild, but other than this you might not find much else worthy of a look. It’s a warm and friendly enough place to drink and there’s no parking restriction outside unlike many in the commercial centre of the town. It does a limited selection of food. |
