I’ve visited many times on trips to London but never got around to rating the place. A visit today whilst in London has found it closed. I’m gutted as really liked to walk here from my office on lunch break. So this is a belated (and much lamented) tribute rating.
Very nice bottle shop, in a clean, inviting space. They sell their own brands of course (including merchandise and stuff), but also lots of English breweries and also interesting imports, for example Oskar Blues Ten Fidy. A bit on the expensive side, while still affordable. There’s also a small bar downstairs that opens on weekdays.
Overall one of the better bottle shops in London, while not on par with the best.
Visited in June 2016 when it was only a single ground floor room bottle shop. The till is against the window, with Brewdog’s own beers on the shelves closest. The more eclectic selections are towards the rear and the prices are not cheap. There is a fridge with duplicates from the shelves if you intend to drink shortly after purchase.
Nice clean space in a central London location. Good selection which can very compared to normal London distribution, with the occasional gems. There some of the BG gimmicky attitude here and there like the aged bottle cabinet, but can be easily ignored. They also recently opened a downstairs bar area piloting 4 BD kegs and allowing me drinking in any bottle purchased for a £1.5 corkage fee (up to 500ml or £3 if a larger bottle). Will visit again for some specific purchases but not a regular stop as prices ain’t properly cheap and not on my usual routes.
Edited on 05/07/16 in order to mention that they’ve now installed a bar in their basement - 5 taps, plus 300 bottles. Not sure of hours.
Drop in here whenever I can (pity it’s kinda out of the way) - great array and super helpful staff. My favourite bottle shop in London.
