Nightfall  (45) Hamburg, Germany | September 12, 2016
Went during my lunch break from work (so I resisted and didn’t have a beer despite the promising Founders Mosaic Promise on tap). The place is much bigger inside than what you can guess from the outside and knowing many restaurants in the area. Friendly stuff that is there to help you and explain everything. Food is what you expect long bbqued goods, homemade side dishes (some typical american other closer to german ones, all very very tasty). The prices are very good for BBQ. If you have the small tray (1 meat 1 side dish) as weekday lunch is 7.90 euro for dinner 9.90, medium tray 12.90 (2 meats), large tray 15.90 (3 meats). You also get homemade bread for free (today they had sourdough which was very well made). During Mon - Fr 12:00 - 15:00 they have special prices and dishes for the workman’s lunch (f.ex a chilli today was just 4.90, they also had pulled pork sandwich and the small tray for 7.90 instead of 9.90). You also have a free choice of one, more or even all homemade 9 sauces. Beer start from 3 euro (330ml Pilsner) until 7.50 for 500 ml of the strongest imported dipa or stout. 10 taps mostly german micros and 25-30 beers in the fridge. Even the soft drinks are not your typical mass produced ones. I hope people will support it as it is are to have a good BBQ in Europe. The only negative which I guess it is to be expected since there is no BBQ craze like in the states were you sell out in a few hours, if you go on a day/time with not much work, some meats can dry out a little bit despite being kept warm (by pulled pork it was easily adjusted by adding more of their great sauces). I would also change a few of their german micros with others better on the same type (f.ex Hopfenstopfer, Ale Mania, etc). Also BBQ place with no smoked beer , come on, bring some Schlenkerla Märzen ! :D Despite the small issues (they have only been open for 1.5 month!), the place is highly recommended for both good food and beer.
