Very easy to reach in Downtown Chicago. Have like 40 Taps and even more bottles. They just had Tap takeover of Mikkeller when I was there, which was really cool. Great selection! Ambiance is not bad, was not that busy on a Monday. Service was nice and knowledgeable. Pretty expensive though. The flights are not cheaper than buying the beers in tasting size separately sadly. Definitely a spot to go to. Especially during tap takeovers!

Big interesting selection of tap beers, not sure about bottles. Baseball on tv. Quite noisy even though not busy on a Saturday night. Expensive. Worth a visit if you’re in the area but don’t go out of your way to come here.

Rare taps, flights of 4 of those rare taps without any snark from the staff, and an amazing reserve list. Not sure what else you can ask for. A bit out of the way and on the expensive side. I am a fan and will be back.

First time tonight. Monday so pretty empty. Very attentive / knowledgable server. Excellent beer selection that actually matched the web site....good to excellent burgers. All in all a good spot...will be back next summer

Re-opened mid 2015. They have a great tap list which rotates to different seasonals/specials frequently. They have events which can sometimes have very rare beers (top 50 speedway variants, etc). Service was great when I was there, and the bartender knew what he was talking about. Only complaint I have is the price, even for the area this place is very expensive!

A nice restaurant on my block. Great tap selection with lots of Mikkeller and some locals. Kind of steeply priced. The food is outstanding and beer friendly. Probably the best burger I’ve had in Chicago

Pretty solid bar for the location. Great beer selection and the food was surprisingly good. I had a burger, several other folks had wings. All were happy. I’d go back to this place for sure. Looks like they had a stage for some live music as well.

Pretty solid spot downtown with a decent burger and quality tap selection. They generally carry locals, three floyds one offs, half acre, etc. Pretty standard as far as Chicago beer joints go, but a nice oasis in the south loop.

I’m living in Chicago part time for work, and while I’m more than willing to get on the el to get to great beer bars, I needed to find a decent beer bar within walking distance. Villains fits the bill. It’s not really a craft beer bar, it’s just a great neighborhood place that happens to have some good craft beers. Victory, North Coast, DFH, Founders, others. The vibe is neighborhood tavern with a slightly hipster undercurrent, but three big screen TVs over the bar offer various sporting events. The food is solid bar food. The bartender knew what she was talking about beer-wise. Though it can’t compare to the Map Room, the Hop Leaf, and several others, this will probably be my regular place during the week.
