Apparently this second location (Crescent Hill is the original) just opened a few months ago, and I completely stumbled upon it while checking out Nachbar and The Post, neither of which had enough of interest to get me to go beyond a look at their menus. This is an attractive, upscale-ish joint with lots of seating (some outside, and lots of German-style communal seating in the bar area), a long L-shaped bar and free internet. And 50 taps...all local KY stuff, but plenty to keep you busy raking for a long while if you’re an out-of-stater (some junk like Goodwood and Alltech has to be endured, of course). Small pours (4-5oz) are offered. And get this...several fully vegan options on the food menu, marked proudly as such, and not just gimme stuff like french fries either (although lots of restaurants even fuck that up by using shit like duck fat, argh!!!)...how about faux tenderloin??? And yep, it’s delicious. So yeah...if you’ve already tapped out the cool imports at Holy Grale, this is probably the second best thing in town as far as I’ve seen. Happy and helpful service, too, unlike nearby The Post and Nachbar, both of which I felt unwelcome/ignored in. Definitely coming back next time I’m in town.
