A large, bright and modern student bar. We didn’t linger as the beer choice was rather limited - three hand pumps, all with the pump clips turned round, and Hop House 13 Lager. (Visited 21 February 2016).

This pub is situated near a stadium, yet bans any football shirts on match day before a game. For years the pub before it generated massive trade from this and there was never any trouble. Trouble happens after games, and it doesn’t happen amongst home fans. Insane logic. The bottled beer is overpriced and for at least 3 weeks there was not a single ale on tap. Now they have one. Good food, but clearly trying to keep their market to ’trendy students’. Poor marketing, as I know plenty of ’trendy students’ and none of them have the kind of cash to make this their regular.

Not bad, caters for students. Always four ales on. Castle Rock dominates.
