Very small place in a residential neighborhhod, crowded but very short wait for a table on a Friday night. The food is the thing here, holy cow. We ere told to try the smoked tomato and were not disappointed. Beer list is surprisingly long for a small foodie place, with a few interesting bottles and taps. Very worthwhile.

Unassuming exterior almost dismissible, but once inside you get the awesome bistro-vibe, sits 8 at bar, 25 at tables, 50 total on a packed Friday night.

I don’t come here to drink, though I do drink when i come: good tap list, varied and no cleanliness issues. Large bottle reserves, wine to go, crazy infused spirits. Reason I come is the food. At price, this is the best restaurant in Baltimore. Amazing variety in cooking techniques including the orgasmic cold-smoked whole tomato+fried feta for $6.50. Awesome service that have willingly played menu-picking and pairing games. Happy hour and nightly specials offer an even better deal, just be careful of limited timing.

Come here to eat yourself silly for so little, then walk six blocks to Of Love and Regret and drink yourself silly. You’ll probably see me stumbling along the way.

An amazing food experience a couple of blocks from Stillwater’s Of Love & Regret. The chef here used to create the menu for OLAR, but for unknown reasons no longer collaborates with them. So now the OLAR menu is suffering and the Jack’s menu is more intense than ever. Insane food choices like sous vide pork belly, Guinness reducation umami explosion filet mignon with grits, smoked tomato with fried feta cheese. These some of the unreal things our group of six had here. We shared about 6 appetizers and two entrees. Oh, beer... They have a small but rotating list of decent craft only beer with Union Craft, Ommegang, Leipzeiger Gose, Weyerbacher, Aecht Schlenkerla, etc. You can order small pours of anything on tap. Service was insane. Food was insane. Beer very good. Actually they have quite the extensive bottle list. In summary, a culinary genius as head chef and a solid beer list. Probably more impressive are their mixed drinks, which probably change daily. Bartenders are pros. I loved it. For what you get, prices are very reasonable. Not a break the bank type of place by any means.
