Stopped in on a Thursday evening with my wife, daughter. Vyvvy joined us and he and I split 8 samplers. As Peter mentioned this is the building that used to house Six Row Brewing. It is a convenient location with parking behind and on street. The staff mentioned they brew 15 beers but 13 were on the menu. One was on nitro. They have a total of 20 craft taps. Their beers were probably average and tended to be sweeter. Nothing I had was outstanding at all. Most of the beers we had needed to be added to the RateBeer system so perhaps they rotate their offerings. If this happens I will be back if only for ticks. I ordered a pizza as did my daughter. Mine seemed to be a little better than a frozen one but I was not overly impressed. My wife got chicken wings and she liked them a lot.

PaPPo’s (capitalization theirs, not mine) took over the space and brewing operation of Six Row on Forest Park Parkway, right off the SLU campus in Midtown. They did some light renovations to the interior, lining it with a lot more wood and giving it a deeper color all around. They have 20 taps, of which 13 were house beers when I visited and most of the rest were seasonal craft IPAs as guests. I was there early, so there was no crowd. The staff was young and friendly and attentive. The brewer - and technically whole operation - were carried over from the Six Row days, and the level of quality seemed about even, from what I could tell. The beer is also being sent down to the Springfield and Lake of the Ozarks locations. The food is good; I didn’t get a pizza because I was alone but the calzone was tasty. I think flights were $8 for 4, which is about right. Plenty of style options available, too. This seems like a good start for the new operation here, and given the proximity to SLU and the rest of the city, I’m sure I’ll be back on future St. Louis visits.
