64 Cozy little spot tucked away outside the main city. Though they were apparently missing their typical second staff member, the bartender remained very attentive and apologetic for what was really a non-delay during a keg change, and also did a very diplomatic job fending off drunken compliments from an enamored patron. Sadly I can’t give a high selection score for a brewery with only one of their own beers on, since I’m there for the house brews, but they did have a good selection of other locals on tap and a few in bottles as well. Still though, a place I’d frequent again certainly to try more of their beers, and maybe just for a change of scenery as well. |
70 This is a small brewery in an industrial district with a very down-to-earth feel. A small wooden bar with a few tables and 2 TVs, lots of beer paraphernalia on the walls (growlers, posters, etc). A fairly extensive tap list although most (the majority) are guest beers. Only 1 Hallenbrick beer on tap when I was there (it was really good though, so I guess they really focus on quality). Guest taps include Marble, Santa Fe, Chama River, and Turtle Mountain. So maybe a good place to go if you don’t have time to go to the other individual brewpubs but still want to sample the beer. A few snacks are available (pretzels, peanuts, chips, etc). As someone who has tried many of the local NM brews, I was disappointed that this place only had 1 house beer on, but because it was so great, I’ll be back when they put another one on. |
46 Small warehouse venue in industrial park. 15-place copper-topped bar with brass foot-rail. Small tables and sofa seating along left wall and back room. Pinball machine up front. Two silent TV surrounded by Mug Club glassware. 15-foot ceiling of corrugated steel with drop-down lighting and ducting. View from back room into brewhouse. Eight (8) taps featured Marble, Santa Fe and the house beers. Bottled New Mexico beers. Food delivery possible from nearby pizza place and cafe.
Live music can get very painful from quantity and (lack of) quality.
Still developing a particular night-time local following. Could be a bit early to commit to the Mug Club. |
