I stopped by last Tuesday for a beer and was informed that the coming Saturday18th of April would be their last day of trading. Because of that, the shelves were down to the last of their bottle stock and only two taps pouring. I have now closed this place entry.
This is one of this bottle/growler stores that doubles as a bar where you can grab pints and bottles and drink on premise. Very relaxed and laid back vibe, obviously, and conducive to hanging out in small groups and splitting stuff. Small bites are available for food. Prices are probably a bit high if your carrying out, but on the cheaper side for bottles/cans compared to what you would pay in a normal bar. Draft options are just ok, though they usually have at least two or three relatively new local offerings, so there’s been a new tick for me every time I’ve visited.
I have been here about two times, and while I would not venture to say anything really bad about it, I was not impressed by the tap selection either time. I was also not thoroughly impressed by the bottle selection (which to my mind had some inflated prices). The ambiance of this place is, however, pretty nice. There are large tables, and you can just grab board games to play. Maybe I just came on days when the tap selection was not as well curated. In any case, I find that Bushwick’s The Sampler has a better tap selection and probably a more extensive bottle selection as well at comparable or lower prices. That said, the bottle prices here are better than you would get at most bars, but worse than what you would get at New Beer Distributors or Whole Foods. I would go back if I was in the area and need a beer, though.
nice place, dece3nt bottles & draft selection, nothing really standing out on tap, had a reinhards IPA, ok. Lots of bottles. Perennial was new to me, saw a spider bite. 12% had some representation, shelton seemed light. Worth a stop
Reminded me of BierKraft, in terms that its a pub AND a store...what a great combination. They claim over 500 brands (maybe more like 200) for sale, and have 16 taps of goodness, at decent prices. They do offer 6 ounces sampler. Thee beers for sale are interesting, with rare stuff from Perenial, Cigar City, Alesmith, Marble and so on. The place was packed for the last game of the Euro Cup finale, and it was packed. Limited menu but interesting sandwiches, cheeses, charcuterie. Service was friendly and efficient. A great little place for shopping and a pint.
