The Rookwood is the current restaurant manifestation in the old Rookwood Pottery building up on Mt. Adams (the last one was Porkopolis). The building, on the National Register of Historic Places, is awesome in every way and this is a nice restoration, all the way down to tables in the former kilns that stretch from floor to ceiling. The food is good but not great, and it can be a pricey meal if you want it to be; there are also good deals to be had on the sandwich and appetizer sections of the menu. There are 4 taps, and when I went the selections were La Chouffe, Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye, Two Brothers Domaine DuPage, and Bell’s Lager of the Lakes. They also have 30 bottles divided into three categories- Domestic & Microbrew, Imported, and Large Bottled Beer. That last category had the most interesting selections, with 3 AleSmith Beers, 2 Belgians, and a Rogue. The Imports strike a wide range, from Corona to St. Bernardus Abt. American brews include Bell’s, Stoudts, Breckenridge, Southern Tier, Troegs, Pyramid, Dogfish Head, and Great Divide. Overall, a very nice rotating selection.
