(Visited 12/2005): The Anderson’s is probably the best place in Lima to find craft beer, but good luck finding it. Depending on where you start, getting there can be a morass of red lights, road construction and confusing signage. Once you get there though, things get much simpler. It is located in American Mall and there is plenty of parking. Once you enter, the beer section is right there. The beers are separated by singles and packs, and pretty much everything they have can be found in singles. Good selection, with beers from DFH, Boulder, Tommyknocker etc. Pretty good selection of imports as well. The service here is pretty good. I was perusing the beers for only a couple minutes before someone asked me if I needed help. Lima is not exactly a beer mecca and is a headache to reach, but The Anderson’s is probably the best place in the area for a good beer selection.

Unfortunately, this location closed in the fall of 2009. Lima lost its best bottle shop. This is one of my local places and I always check it out when in Lima. Lots of singles, seasonals, and the staff will try to special order for you. I found the DFH Red and White and Black and Blue there, and they will randomly have very nice foriegn beers. Worth the stop, especially if you are stuck in Lima.

Traveling through Lima and stopped thanks to rating by JCW. Great selection of craft/micro brews. Helpful staff, great wine, and cheese selection as well. Good mix of beers I have not found available in my area, if you’re in the area check it out.

I was visiting family up in Lima when I decided to search for some good beer. Anderson’s is grocery store with a large wine selection and a fairly good micro & imported beer selection. They had Unibroue Terrible, 2005, and 10 on sale for $5 a bottle. Also sold singles of all their micros which included Founders, New Holland, Bells, Great Lakes and many more. Nice stop if you find yourself in Lima.
