Has kind of a dive bar feel and it’s in the middle of nowhere but don’t let that fool you. This is a place that takes beer seriously. They have 40 taps of overwhelmingly craft beer plus a large number of bottles. The bartender knew a lot about the beers as well. The prices were also very good as well with most beers under $4.50. Plus they sell flights if their drafts. This place is better then anything they have in Gettysburg.

You wouldn’t expect to find a place like this out in the middle of nowhere (Hanover may not be the middle of nowhere but it’s close). Places like this in a larger city are hard to come by. If you can’t find a beer you like here then maybe you should stop drinking beer. They have an enormous selection of bottled beer and a large selection of drafts. I’ve only been here once (traveling on business) but plan to come back when in the area. The food was good, standard pub fare. The bar is full of different items that give it a quaint but not over-the-top cliche’ feel to it. This isn’t TGIFriday’s (thankfully). The waitstaff was very freindly and helpful. The people of Hanover should feel very fortunate to have a place like this in their hometown.

Always worried that the large number of taps in a relatively remote location (don’t say that to the locals) may mean less than fresh beer. But after many visits that has never been a problem. The bigger problem is what beer(s) to choose. The non descript exterior gives way to an inviting bar and adjacent dining area. Service has always been right on target. The reasonably priced food is better than average pub grub, with daily specials on a chalkboard. One thing they do that I wish other places would, is put the prices of the drafts on their beer list. Always worth a visit when in the area (Gettysburg is close by).

Drove right past this place in Hanover, but we found our way. There was a lot of hype about this tavern !!! The beers on tap were appx 40 and they were all average. The food was pretty good, nice music and the staff was very friendly. I did not see all the bottles that other people are talking about !!! But i might go back to see if this is true.

This was a decent enough place but I was expecting spectacular after hearing a bunch of hype about it. They had roughly 30 craft taps, most of which were pretty common. The food was excellent and service was good as well. Prices are average and well labeled. If I lived in the area I would probably frequent the place but as it stands it isn’t really worth an hour drive to go there especially when I can go to the Victory, Stoudts, Troegs, or Sly Fox brewpubs in about the same amount of time.

What’s a great beer bar like this doing stuck in a town like Hanover? Whatever the reason, this place is the real deal - the people who run Kclinger’s know their stuff about beer. Of course when I went I missed out by a day the Otto’s Sumatra and Jolly Roger taps, but still had an amazing visit. Draft Hopslam and Kclinger’s Brown Ale (made by Otto’s) were excellent, and they had (maybe the last one) bottles of of 2002 Oerbier Reserva ($20). The beer book is fairly out of date, with things like Westy and Vertical Epic listed that are long gone, but they still do have a lot of vintage and rare bottles, and nearly all of the 20-or-so taps were quality. The bartender didn’t seem to mind me bugging him so much about what was in stock, and he knew everything about the bottles and taps they had, so service gets a 10.

BIt of a drive for me, but I think the other Kclingers up in etters closed. This place offers basically the same thing, but is much smaller. It’s respectable offering of brew make this worth a stop.

I always plan on spending an afternoon that turns into an evening at KClingers when our family visits south central PA to visit relatives every summer. This summer’s visit turned out to the best so far. They had 9 IPAs or DIPAs on tap. We tried all of them excpet the SN. We can’t get ANY of the other 8 in Georgia. Food is average pub grub. Food service is OK, but the beer service is outstanding. Not only could the waitress answer all of our questions on beer, the bartender stopped by our table twice to talk beer with us. The best beer they had on tap was Hair of the Dog Doggie Claws. Not only was it on tap, but it was cask conditioned!! As if that wasn’t good enough, the bar tender allowed me to go with him down into the cellar and hand pick beers I could buy.

KClinger’s was a little hard to find at first but I was very pleased when I did. It looks like your typical small-town bar from the outside. Inside’s a little better. But the sheer selection more than makes up for it. 40 taps, over 500 bottles! Great selection on draft and usually a few on cask as well. Food was good, service is good as well. It’s out of the way but definitely worth the journey. This is my favorite haunt, lucky I’m only 10 minutes away.
