Dark, somewhat dingy sort of place with that old-world, authentic Irish pub type of feel. Sign me up! Don’t recall a spectacular beer selection but they do Guiness just fine. Good place to watch a sporting event with several areas to sit in front of a large screen or projector. Nice spot to hang out at the end of South Street. Gets very crowded though.

This is a great place to catch soccer games. I usually come in during the morning or early afternoon hours to catch a match. Nice selection of beers and a properly poured Guiness. The food is good. Always a lively crowd for the games.

Visited the downstairs bar, had a couple of crafts pouring, the rest were more common brews. Friendly bartender, good fries!

Stopped by on Sunday and almost didn’t go in since the street-level bar was dark and just barely caught the open sign hanging in the back. Ventured cautiously upstairs to find a fairly busy bar. The main bar is very English pub done by Americans feeling. Exposed rafters, dark wood, etc. Still, 20oz pours of Summer Love and Ithaca Apricot Wheat for five bucks are nothing to scoff at. Place got kinda busy before we left which made the main bar pretty cramped as it isn’t that big. Barkeep let us take our drinks outback to a random patio type area that had no seating and opens to the street- definitely didn’t feel like we should have been drinking out there but was nice to be able to chat with my lady outside. It may have the usual pitfalls of an American English pub, but the prices for the beers were pretty good and the beers tasted fine. I’ll stop by next time I’m in the area.

Your basic British pub that happens to be located in an 17th Century Federal style building in an historic section of town. Formely, Dickens Inn, the Drak Horse consists of two floors, each with several pubs of varying decor. The main bar is really nothing more than a sports bar with the usual suspects on tap: Guinness, Harp, Boddington, Stella and a single tap of Yards. That said, they do serve a very tasty dish of bangers and mash. Also, the Dark Horse is not as packed as other venues in the Headhouse Square neighborhood. (Plus, I got United Miles for stopping by, so ..... eh.)

Decent dive bar with 8-10 taps. Only about 2-3 craft beers on tap. Tap lines were not clean and really did a number on the beers being served. Also, mice were running around the pub. Okay, its a historic building. But really? Mice? Really.

When I had the food here, admittedly longer ago, I remember it being basically typical of what is available at decent, non grimy places around here. servicable but don’t expect fireworks based on this (kinda ignorant) other guy. Main focus would be the bar upstairs, where the service is swift, courteous, british, and efficient. He keeps it clean up there and seems to respect his job, a real publican. I like the ambiance a lot, tons of wood, nice island style bar, brass rail. They had something nice and different up there too - a smoked brandy mulled wine, which was delicious, fruity apple berries, full flavored and warming, which we even got a free sample of. The beer selection on draft is nothing rare, but some of it works out pretty well like the boddingtons. The bottles are mostly junk with a few ok things mixed in. Not a bad place to stop and grab some grub and a beer or meet up with friends, has nothing to do with beer hunting except in the very early stages, but a class bar that deserves some props for being pleasant.

This place is a great English style Pub, with an amazing restaraunt attached. Great english foods, delicious fish and chips, really a top notch place. Good beer selection on draft, and they are all great beers include hoegarden and new castle, as well as some seasonal. Also have a pretty good selection of bottles (though why drink a bottle at the pub?). Really a great place with a great english feel.
