![]() 66 Parking is on the street and small gravel parking lot on the side. Old style brewpub, old industrial building, copper bar top, you can see the brewing equipment on one side. Service was pretty good. Almost all Penn beers, regular lineup, plus quite a bit of seasonal. $6 a beer, slightly above average pricing. Sounded like there was a trivia night going on downstairs. |
![]() 72 Roomy, traditional, open on a rainy and miserable winter noon, friendly service, available flights, good food, what else you can ask for? |
![]() 72 Visited before RBSG with travlr. Huge building with a nice biergarten. They also have their own small parking garage right beside it. We went when they opened, so plenty of room available, though I could see that they would get busy during rush times. They had only their beers on tap. Several were pub exclusive one-offs. They focus on german styles, and those are the styles they excelled in. Service was a bit spotty, but overall I had a good experience. |
![]() 70 This is a large old timey industrial brewing setup that’s slowly adapting to craft beer. First, there is a small parking garage and very tight street parking. You can walk through the makeshift beer garden if you like. Inside is a large beer hall with a bar tucked into one corner, and a vie through glass to the gorgeous copper tuns. They had a flight of ten beers when we visited, all were pretty middling, although a Berliner wiesse stood out. Server was mostly at lunch during our visit, though she was very pleasant. Worth a stop. |
![]() 60 If you are looking to drink their beer all night the ambiance and authenticity of this place is great. Their Oktoberfest celebration is top notch! |
![]() 42 Wtf is the deal with the tours? Help wasn’t incompetent, but actually misled me several times (presumably absentmindedly). It’s an awesome space, however, classic preserved German brick-and-mortar, factory district-style brewery with a cellar and everything -- but I still don’t see anything worthwhile in the beers. |
![]() 74 I went on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty empty. Mostly business people on their lunch break. The service was good, but when I got there, there was only one server, but she was a fast as she possibly could be. It was pretty cool that you could watch the brewing process while having some food and beer, but the inside wasn’t anything special otherwise. A majority of the beers on tap were German style, but they had a few exceptions, like an Oatmeal Stout and a Pale Ale. The beers were all decent, but none of the ones I tired were exceptional. The lunchtime menu had some great deals and it was a lot of food. I did a sampler of 11 beers for $15, so that was a nice deal too. All-in-all, it was a solid brewery to visit in Pittsburgh. |
![]() 68 Kick back and enjoy a beer, a pretzel, and some great takes on traditional favorites such as buffalo wing pierogies...Good stuff |
![]() 82 Nice pub vibe with flags hanging from the ceiling and a view overlooking the brewery. I didn’t try the food but their beer was solid. |
![]() 80 Nice place. Right near downtown with a good selection of beer. I was there in spring for training, and they had a picnic outside with brats, sausage, dogs, sauerkraut and BEER! Beer is good, ask for the "Rusty Trombone". Seasonal and this was the last keg. Friendly people and an overall good time. |
