Went there for lunch on a Thursday. Not busy at all inside. I ordered a hamburger which was normal restaurant burger fare. Nice size sampler (9 x 5oz samples). I too found all the beers to be thin and watery.

Not sure were to start here. I guess I should start by saying a large majority of my dislike for this place started with our server. After having to ask for a water 3 times I finally got one (each time she said "sure I’ll be right back")...finally on the 3rd try she brought me one. She brought us olive oil that I guess we were suppose to dip bread in that we never got (after we asked what the oil was for she finally said "oh you never got bread? I’ve been really out of it today"). Keep in mind this we went on a slow Sunday night...so nobody in the place was busy. Anyway enough with the bad service...the beers overall seemed to have a consistant theme of "watery". Nothing special on tap. The Lobster Bisque we got was billed as having "large chunks of Lobster". If you call bits that you would need a microscope to view "large" then maybe they were onto something. Not sure I would try this place again unless there was something very special on tap.

This location is close to my lady’s house and we’ve been going to there to grab a pint or two and a bite to eat. Dining room is busy but there seems to be ample seating in the bar area. Service for the most part is good, I’ve had a few bad experiences with bartenders not knowing the beers, but you can always get a sample if your unsure of a style. In the past months the food menu has shrunk but the quality of beers has improved. There’s always a trade off, right? Located on Baltimore Pike, one of Delaware County’s busiest shopping drags. However JHBH Springfield is located in one of the quieter strip malls with plenty of parking and easy access. The brewpub has been running a growler special that starts @ $8 togo which is a good deal.

I was never thrilled with their beers, hand pump stuff was mistreated, and their attempts to replicate american standard lagers were too accurate, if you know what I mean. There are still a handful of characterful offerings. Food is nice though, no complaints: fish and chips, even really good meatloaf. Service variable. Ambiance tricky: the saints on the walls are a quirky touch, the seating design feels like a bland chain restaurant (which it is).
