66 It’s hard to give The Hop a rating for a.ambience because on the two occasions I’ve been in, I’ve been the oily customer. Friendly bar staff though and a good choice of Ossett beers make it worth a visit |
58 Despite loads of Ossett beers I was disappointed there no new ones for me... but there was one guest ale on that I actaully needed. A quick half late on Wednesday evening when it was virtually empty and loud muzak blaring out so was glad to exit quickly! |
74 Large open plan pub, traditional looking interior (lots of wood etc) despite external appearance (former supermarket under block of flats!). Beer range can be interesting, mostly centred on the Ossett ’family’ (Ossett, Fernandes, Riverhead and Rat breweries), with guests too. Regular (3-4 per year) beer festivals. Pie, mash, peas and a pint for a fiver. Busy and loud on riday & Saturday night (usually live music), quieter rest of time. 10% discount on beer for CAMRA members (not Fri & Sat) |
66 Large place, which looks and feels like a student nightclub. Apparently a bit of music venue and is part owned by a pop star. Also part owned by Ossett and incongrously offer 8 hand pulls including (unsuprisingly) lots of Ossett beers. Certainly lively. Clean and funky. |
