Visited Oct 2017. Small bar serving around 9 beers including two on cask (both from Moor Beer Co on my visit). The fridge is not extensive but high on quality. Friendly English barman. Food is vegetarian only
well, what to say about this? It has a great score, and I can see why. That does not mean I agree though. The place is as hipster as you can get, but pretty hollow. To the naked eye, all aspects are great. The interior is amazing, and they have some truly awesome bottles not seen elsewhere in BCN. Underneath all that though, I saw a couple of things a truly great bar should try to avoid. bottles were priced by necklabels, yet roughly 60% of them didn’t have a necklabel. Some of them had a random different one than they should. Upon asking a price menu, i was answered by a super-energetic bartender , that used his energy to point out to me that a menu wasn’t possible with THIS beers !! (obviously thats BS as we print a menu daily in the bar I work. It’s a tough job, but possible ) but he didn’t provide any further help, too. The food was mainly focussed on Vegan and Vegetarian. Absolutely great for some, but only very limited choices for someone like me, strengtening the hipster-feel here. Prices were on the high side, even more so for the food. We truly didn’t enjoy this hollow atmosphere. There’s more to craft than having a nice interior and great beers in the fridge. i missed passion, energy used in the right way, quality, and knowledge, for instance. perhaps we went on a bad moment ?
