Good location with potential to attract both tourists and locals. The interior decoration is plain, in a Scandinavian functionalistic style that leaves a bit cold impression in my opinion. Brewing equipment left visible downstairs is a nice element, though. As for beers, the selection is limited but overall interesting. The emphasis is not only on their own beers but also on Finnish microbreweries in general which makes it distinctive from other pubs in the vicinity. Bryggeri’s own brews I had were decent and the great Finnish sahti, Lammin Sahti, was also available. The prizes were actually a bit lower than in many other pubs and beerhouses in Finland and it’s possible to have tap beers in tasting samples also. Recommended.

A bit south of the centre closer to the port. The brewery is downstairs together with more seatings. We got a place upstairs which was calm, might have been because it was a Monday around lunchtime. Good service by the brewery as well as from those behind the bar. Taps mixed of their own beers and guest beers.

Modern slightly sprawling brewpub with a courtyard, inside bit and downstairs restaurant area. Nice enough area to drink, populated on my visit by what seemed mostly a business/tourist crowd, given the location perhaps to be expected. Food was not bad, beers surprised me (relative to a typical brewpub in such a location) and what I tried was all good to excellent. Clearly on any objective global basis prices are ridonkulous, and service varied hugely depending on who you talked to (the ladies were faultless but I did get offered a table without a waiter and will shortly be off to wash my dishes I guess). But I'd come here for beer again, and this is a beer site...

Centrally located near the port, it’s a fairly spacious place with an outdoor courtyard and separate area downstairs. There’s many of their beers available including a bunch of bottles for when you’ve finished with the tap list. The brewer was busy brewing but took the time still to talk to us. Nice place and certainly one I’d return too in Helsinki.

Right in the middle of the tourist center near the port, so it’s easy to reach. Multiple buildings and a central courtyard. Small serving bar next to a shop where you can buy bottles. Brewer Matthias was prepping the malt for a doppelbock but took the time to explain the beers and show us around the brewhouse. Beers were decent, and some of the seasonals were very tasty. Sampler trays available as well, and food was tasty.

A short walk from the cathedral towards the harbour, you will find this nice brewpub on the right side of Sofiankatu. Welcoming warmth meets me in the doorway, what a nice place to drink some beers from the brewery downstairs.Modern interior, yellow concrete walls, decorated with old photos from the neighbourhood, visible copper downstars,a small bottle shop when you enter, calm MOR music played at reasonable volume. The Bar itself is inspired by the trams of Helsinki, nice work . 4 Helsinki beers on tap at my visit, 4 guest beers, young girl in the bar spoke English very well, and was service minded and knowledgeable about the beers, good WiFi as a plus. Recommended place.

A neat little brewpub down a side street to the east of the town centre. It has an atmosphere simultaneously staid and welcoming. Five of their own beers on tap with three guests. Bottle selection includes loads of Finnish and Estonian craft plus about 6 or 7 house beers not currently on tap. They offer beer anywhere from 1 to 5dl, and (unlike most of the city) don’t charge comparatively extra for smaller measures. An exceptionally pleasant place to be.

Brewpub in the city center that manages to stay popular among middle aged couples aswell as the hipsters. Big outside beergarden with live music (in the summer). Selection includes their own lineup and quite a few finnish micros on tap and in bottles. Friendly service.

Visited on a sunny sunday in May. Nice service and ended up ordering two tasting platters with only beers from the brewery, not only the ones on tap, but they also opened a couple of bottles for the tasting. Did not eat. Good selection of mainly the brewery’s own beers, but a couple of other finnish micros on tap and bottle.

Walked past this place several times, it really doesn’t look much from the outside. But once you are inside the place opens up nicely with a small and cosy bar from which you can admire the shiny copper brewing kit. Downstairs is an expansive restaurant. There are at least 4 or 5 fridges dotted about the place, well stocked with Finnish mircros, and another is dedicated to Estonian micros. There are probably north of 100 bottles on offer. There is also a bottle shop (closes at 9) which sells the house beers below 4.7% for takeaway. 10 dcl samples are available from the taps and the very helpful barman also poured me some 10dcl samples from their stronger house beers in bottle. All served up on a flight with a printed deScription of each beer - most impressive. Liked this place enough to come back for dinner, the food was very good, although top end for a pub not for fine dining. Really enjoyed this place and could have come here 5 or 6 times before exhausting all the beers on offer. Judging places on 1 or 2 visits is always a little dicey but for me this place pisses over Pikkalintu.
