Was here in February 2013. In a country lacking beer selection (as of 2013) this is a sweet find. I tracked this place down based on the other review and found a great little courtyard bar with a quiet setting. Decent selection (for Peru), but I was having trouble communicating with non english staff. During my attempts to communicate "cervesa freeio" to the guy, the owner came over and helped me out. He was friendly and very beer knowledgable. He showed me his home brew stash and I bought some of his own stuff which was fun. I would recommend this place to any beer travelers in town.

Dragon’s Palate as a beer place is in that unique position of having a boring selection by U.S. standards and a stand out selection by Peruvian standards. Owned by an expatriate born in Wisconsin and having lived 25 years in Delaware, And for whom Cusco is now home, His wife owns a shop within the same courtyard. During my visit bottles of cusquena white, Malta, Trigo and Red were available, along with Pilsen, and Cristal. Zenda and Brahma from Brazil, Stella artois and finally Quara, also from Peru. They have live music twice per week. Not a beer destination by any stretch, but probably in the 95th percentile in beer selectnion for the city of Cusco and the prices are really good. Also serves food. The wi-fi wasn’t working when i was there but they have it.
