A small and open bar with beer bottles on display and seating outside on a raised section at the front. The bottle selection is fairly ok though not exciting and the staff are friendly enough, but the prices are simply too high even by Singapore standards. No point stopping here.

Nice outdoor bar alongside the Singapore River at Clarke Quay. Decent bottle selection but nothing inspiring on draft. It has everything going for it except price. It’s hugely expensive. One local friend said it would be cheaper to drink in the bar at the top of the Marina Bay Sands. A nice enough place but i’ll walk on by next time.

This ought to be the best beer bar in central Singapore and possibly is. However, when compared to the up-and-comings its reign at the top may be short unless it gets its act sorted. A waterfront Singaporean-style food pub is mostly terrace. Although it has 150+ beers from all over and the list is full of decent takes such as Rochefort, Wiehenstephaner, Brewdog, Nøgne Ø, La Trappe and Coopers, it somehow fails to sing, or press the case for better beer. Likewise the food is more reliable than exciting. Owned by the same people as the Brussels Sprouts bars.

One more place on the Quays, open on the river (the problem is that you get the smoke). Very lame selection on draught; surprisingly they have many bottles, among which a couple of good Belgian, a couple Nøgne Ø, 8 Wired, Feral, BrewDog. They still display many more empty bottles (which are no longer available); I have the feeling that as they run out of some of the special beers, they won’t buy them again…
