The Local Pub

Well. Now it's almost pure Anastasiou spot. Nevertheless they have 20 tapa of okay beer. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. So there's that.

Rather overrated and not worth the travel outside of the center of Athens.

2018 update: still the best place in Athens. The big extra now is the connection with the Anastasiou brewery. The owner is the same and the brewery is located next to the pub. So you can alwys find 4-5 fresh Anastsiou beers at the pub. This way the Local Pub becomes the second real brewpub of the city along with Athineo. (But with better beers from what I have tried so far). The rest of the beer selection is still very good. Older Review: My favorite beer place in Athens! Great atmosphere with good music. The selection of beers is very good for a bar in Greece. The best Greek micros along with many US and European beers both on tap and bottles. Every time I find something new to drink. The staff loves beer and can help you select a beer to taste

Great place. You can find on tap greek micros and great selection from english, american (and not only) beers. Also grom now on you can taste the beers from owners brewery (Anastasiou Brewery). One of two best beer places in Greece.

Pretty nice place at first sight. Big variety of micro breweries taps. A price list to check the prices would be nice to exist though. As something to eat.

Nice place, in an ok spot. Not reccomended if you are claustrophobic though. Good variety of beers but not so rare ones for those who need something extra. Absence of something edible cannot slip through. Still has a long way to go.

Been there a lot of times...A lot of taps with guest beers and atmosphere and decoration of a classical pub..I suggest it to all the beer maniacs...

Clearly the best place in Athens. It's quite a ways from the centre, and even from the nearest metro station (15-20 minutes), but it's completely worth the trek. Their taplist boasted 5 Greek micros when I visited, included two of their own house beers from their small system in the back, plus some Brewdog and other English stuff, and even some American stuff (Founder's Breakfast Stout and an Anchor). Fotis, the manager, is unbelievably friendly and generous, and a pleasure to hang out with. The place itself is sort of a British pub feel, with a smallish interior and a great outdoor setting set off from the road. Wonderful spot.
