This place could be nowadays a bit more interesting, because they get Brewhouse beers. When I visited though, they were out though. Guy said they would get some by the end of the week. If you are in the area, other options to find Brewhouse are "The Grape Vine" (another wine / liquor store) or Clifton market. But there are also some bars that should have some. Check the brewery website for details. Apart from Brewhouse there is not much point to come here. Every of the bigger supermarkets has a better selection of local caribbean lagers. Brewhouse would set you back around 9.5 Barbados-$. But its not much cheaper at the brewery..

The Rockley/Acca Beach branch. Turn left coming off the beach and it’s on the right hand side on the road to Bridgetown. I walked from the St Lawrence side of Worthing. This place isn’t worthy of inclusion on a beer website unless you’re a ticker of places or showing off about where you’ve been. Ambience: uncomfortably air-conditioned, verging on icy. Chilled but couteous like it is everywhere in Barbados, although I did get the impression I was being laughed at because I was buying a 275ml bottle of Amstel Bright, nothing more. An ill-appointed offie with airs and graces and a tenth of the selection of an English supermarket. Except where the rum is concerned, admittedly. Shelves empty of beer when I visited, only the most bog standard Bajan supermarket offerings; Banks, Mackeson, Amstel Bright, Carib. That’s your lot. Gutted I wasted an afternoon walking 5 miles in the midday sun to this place. My advice? Pick up a flask of Mount Gay Eclipse, a 6 pack of Mackeson XXX from the Trimart on the corner, hit the beach and forget about it.

There are about four Wine Worlds in Barbados. This is the one closest to the St. Lawrence Gap area, which is where most tourists stay. There are locations north of Bridgetown for people staying at the new Four Seasons or fancier resorts. See the Wine World website for more locations.

I decided to add Wine World to the database because here you can find a few random imported beers, like Sierra Nevada and Carlsberg, that are just not found in grocery stores like Big B or side shops. Stallion Milk Stout, Banks Beer varieties, Mackeson XXX, Guinness Foreign Extra, Piton, Carib seem to be the only beers normally found on the island. At Wine World I found these plus Amstel Light, Heineken, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Corona Extra, Red Stripe, Becks, St Pauli Girl, Labatt Blue, Fosters, Peroni, Kronenberg 1664, Hoegaarden, Carlsberg, Boddington’s Pub Ale, and even a Sierra Nevada sampler pack with SNPA, Torpedo IPA, Kellerweiss, etc. Overall, side stores all around the island will have some macro Caribbean lagers but Wine World is your best bet to find decent imports. It’s also a good place for Scotch, though I’m not sure why you would want those when you can have dirt cheap Mt Gay Extra Old by the liter.

Unfortunately, shops in Barbados literally do not have addresses. So just walk along the road from St Lawrence Gap towards Worthing and across from Rockley Beach is the shop, which is stand alone and should have a big poster advertising the store. Or just ask any local where Wine World is and they will know what you are talking about. Don’t fret about not having an exact address :) Or you can complain about having to walk 100 meters like the chap above.
