52 Long time spot, but I wasn’t too enthralled with it. For one, though they have tons of taps, they offer no small pours — just 16 oz or 10 pours by default depending on the beer. Taps were many and varied but not that interesting — I guess that’s the LA beer scene. Server was a total jerk, grudgingly giving a couple samples but refusing others, and outright ignoring me at the bar for an order. Why have so many taps if you don’t have ways of sampling them? This place isn’t so great. |
84 Stopped in one afternoon for a couple of pints had the pub pils and a Jester King Saison. Enjoyed my time here will happily return. |
82 Visited with Nick. We sat downstairs, classic bar interior. Plenty of seating. Some nice local and not so local beers on tap. I believe about 30 taps were on. Had some nice local IPAs and couple of Peche Mortel variations. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Would return. |
94 What can you say about a local icon like the Avenue Pub...other than you agree with all the great reviews and you need to come back as soon as possible with all your friends! Just a really fun place with lots of cool vibes and amazing selections. You will get into conversations here...and they will flow smoothly given the feel of the place...the people it attracts...and the great lubricants provided for your tongue...lol! |

76 We came here on 9.8.2019. This beer bar is located in the garden district. We visited after a Saint’s game in the Super Dome (1.2 miles walking). 2 bars on 2 floors with different beer selection. We enjoyed sitting on the outside terrace. Interesting draft beer selection: not many IPA’s and more Gose and Sours. Huge list of bottled beers, must be in the range of 200-300, a lot of from Belgium and a lot of Farmhouse/Brett Ales. Many are not chilled and you have to give them some notice. Unbelievable this bar is open for 24 hours 7 days a week. Ben would appreciate the opening hours very much ! |

74 I don't remember going here when I lived in NOLA from 1998-2000 and was excited to check this place out, but I was underwhelmed. The bartender noticed by my questions that I wasn't a local, and she showed it. Very nice selection, but beers were pricey, especially by NOLA standards. We didn't eat here, so I can't comment on the food. Do yourself a favor and go to The Courtyard instead. |
70 On the trolley line, good bottle list but didn’t have a lot of taps I was interested in. Old house setting. |
84 24 hr bar, which is super rare and very welcome for craft-focused beer bars. In a sea of European-style bars opened 4 hours a week, here you have a great selection at any hour. The feel of the place is familiar; dark wood and brick with a divey crowd.
Impressive selection of drafts. The day I visited they had Holy Mountain and Hill Farmstead, as well as a few German rubber-clad gravity kegs with seriously nuts lagers.
Bottle selection leaves something to be desired. |
