Visited late afternoon on a Monday. Located in Jack London Square area of downtown Oakland, easy to find just off of Broadway. Parking is street, and I would imagine could get limited at times. There is an outdoor patio you walk across to enter, with table seating. Interior is a long bar on the right hand side, with tables and bottle coolers to the left. Narrow room, though space to maneuver. Beer selection, both on draft and in the coolers is incredible. Draft is 50 or so very well chosen drafts with a focus on top craft producers throughout the world. The bottle selection is even more impressive, with 8 cooler doors of crazy beers. Local and sought after national. Really good vibe, beautiful day on the patio. I wish I could have bottle shopped. I ended up visiting twice during my week in Oakland.

88 = ★★★★ (best in area, a must for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Second visit of the day, right after visiting Pacific Coast Brewing. Not busy on Monday afternoon, almost all the rest customers were sitting outside since the weather was very nice. I loved the dive bar ambiance inside. A lot of taps with many interesting beers and many bottles for take away and to drink on site. Good service and good prices. Dont know if there is any food.

Kind of a "dive" bar. Outside seating available. Great tap selection of mainly California beers. Very large selection of bottles to go or drink in house with a $1 up charge. Service was great and prices seemed in line with the area. You should visit.

Sometimes the guys are not so friendly, but this place is still legit. Fucking great selection, good prices, and awesome vibe. Death metal is playing 90% of the time. Seriously though get some lights in your drink fridge. WTF. Seating is cool and they let you bring in any outside food

Visited on a Friday afternoon in November 2015. Itís a couple of blocks from Jack London Square, has security on the door at 3pm and looks like a converted house with bars on the window and a small deck out front that catches the afternoon sun just right. Step into the dark interior and it strikes me as the place Toronado so wants to be. Loud music, a huge and interesting tap list and a good range of bottles in the fridge. Seems they have a delivery of Pliny at 2.30pm every Thursday thatís gone in 24hrs. Service was good, prices decent. A great bar and worth the trip over the bay.

Stopped by beer revolution on March 22nd for my friends birthday celebration. This wasnít the first time Iíve been there, and after the great time we had on Sunday Iím for sure to be coming back over and over. Sundayís are a great day to go especially because they close at a reasonable time, forcing you to make it to work Monday morning hahah. Itís way too easy to get carried away there with the large selection of beer and great service to back it up. Thereís even a fridge for bottled beer selections. Which makes me really happy because thereís usually a stock of Pliny the elder! The main area is large and roomy enough to accommodate a large crowd and outdoor patio, which is pet friendly! Bathrooms are of the typical bar bathroom so always be wary, which no offense to anyone. I just feel that with drinking and restrooms always gets sketch hah. Overall, my friend had a great celebration at beer revolution and the staff played a huge part in that. Iíd like to really thank Rebecca for taking such great care of us and canít wait to go back again!

Can get easily packed when events are happenin - good luck parkin or gettin in the door then. But, itís packed for a reason. Usually an insane tap list. decent prices though i see markup on some bottles. I was all in on this place til I saw a super old ass session pale ale twice in a row (Iíd told em it was long past itís prime the first time and they were still selling them months later) but overall a great place for a beer geeks beer, or just anything local/regional.

Not sure what happened to my rating, adding it again...

Stopped in here yesterday on my way to another event in the area. Kind of has the dive bar feel but it is clearly all about the beer, reminds me of the old version of Shady McGradyís back home. Atmosphere was good. Lots of people sitting outside and a bit less inside. Service was great. Two guys behind the bar helping people choose their beers and explaining them well. Quality was pretty good. All of my beers were served in the correct glasses but the bar overall could use a bit of TLC to smooth out the rough edges. Selection was easily the best part. They had a ton of beer on-tap, even after finding out the entire middle board wasnít available for a few hours. They kept having to explain that to every person who came in, simple fix would be to put a sign on that board...whatever. Lots of bottles in the coolers on the opposite side of the bar, plenty of quality options in there. All of the drafts were $6 which was awesome because I have seen a few of them for much higher at other bars in the area. Overall a really cool spot.

Small, divey bar with excellent bartenders and a great selection. I went during SF beer week when David Firestone came to visit with some rare FW brews. Overall the tap selection was phenomal. I got half a beer just as one of the kegs blew and the bartender at the time gave it to me for free. Very cool.
