84 We made it to Coaltrain on our recent trip to Colorado Springs and am glad we did. A nice place, easy location to find with a large selection of single beers. I saw many costly, good quality brews, mostly out of my price range. But there were also a considerable number of interesting, affordable beers, several I bought and brought home with me. Lots of imperial stouts to check out in here and quite a few Colorado breweries represented. And surprisingly, most of my purchase was in bottles which is going against the tide these days. |
82 Visited here in late August '22 while in the area on vacation. Medium-sized liquor store located on the outskirts of Colorado Springs. Very large selection of Colorado and other western craft, large cooler taking up most of one wall. Have to look pretty hard for the singles which is what I am looking for on quick trips, but no despair, a walk-in cooler has plenty of singles and rare beers. There is also a small standup cooler over to eh left which has plenty to choose from. Decent prices, friendly service. |
92 Big serious looking liquor store. Half the square footage is dedicated to wine, which makes their beer selection all that much more impressive. It's not the number of bottles they have, but how many whales. They had many offerings from Fremont, AleSmith, Lawsons, Russian River, not to mention all the locals. If I lived in the area I'd be here every week. You absolutely must check this place out; it's worth going out of your way. |
84 Located right off I-25 in Colorado Springs, this store has a non-descript look from the outside. Entering, beer is on the right. Great selection of local Colorado beers and beers from across the region and a decent international selection. One big gripe would be the small collection of singles. |
80 Very nice liquor store, with a big wall of coolers with six packs, a beer cave full of bombers and special releases, and a full wall of bombers. Great spread of beers, from local to the full range of quality imports. The employees are consistently friendly and helpful. The prices are about average, or maybe just a little high. This is a great place for craft beer. And very convenient to I-25, so it’ll be difficult for me not to be back, and often. |
84 Awesome selection of beer, very knowledgeable staff. They do tend to hide the really good beers in the back and you have to ask for them. |
82 Went here and downtown on same weekend. No offer to help. Beers are so tightly packed I missed a whole section during my first trip. I judge stores on selection and this is top notch. Prices are average. No op Ty to mix singles |
82 Best overall selection in town, especially rare foreign craft. With that said, a lot of the beer crowd, myself included, try not to go in there becuase they hold back or don’t tell the general public about some of the specialty beers they get. I understand they hold some of the beers for their tastings, but $50-$75 is a lot to shell out for a rare sour or BA tasting for a lot of us. |
70 Was not greeted upon entering, was not approached the entire time I browsed, had to stand at an empty register for quite awhile to check out. The selection was quite impressive, but lots of their stock was clearly quite old and some of the finest ales were not only piled in front of a window, but two windows in the corner on the south side where the sun bakes them. I avoided several beers I wanted based solely on the old stock/in direct sunlight issue. |
78 great selection of beers and wines.. service can be excellent on most days but i have been disapointed as well. They do have a large selection so if you are looking for a beer which your average neighbourhood store does not carry this is one of the places which you should check out. |
