Visited in 2012. Thought I’d put all my reviews from that trip in but obviously I hadn’t so apologies for the lateness. Small pub in the Lace Market area. Comfortable and cosy. There’s a larger room downstairs but that looks like the dining area. Half a dozen handpumps wih some interest. Cock & Hoop was originally specially made for the pub by Nottingham brewery but seems to be more widely available now. It wasn’t on on this visit. Worth a look if passing.

A nice little pub in the heart of the Lace Market area.
The Cock and Hoop reputedly has a beer brewed for it by Nottingham Brewery but it wasn’t on when we visited. Instead there were five hand pumps, all with interesting craft brews from elsewhere, and a couple of Freedom beers. It’s a tiny pub attached to the Lace Market Hotel and it can be entered through there or from the street, opposite the Galleries of Justice. It’s quiet and gentile, with a few battered old armchairs and some benches. Downstairs there’s a large basement room with brick arches (no sandstone caves in sight, unusually for a Nottingham cellar) which I assume is the eating area as it’s billed as a gastropub.
