A very unpretentious tavern on the outskirts of the French Quarter. It’s greatest value perhaps is that it’s a quieter, gentler tavern than most of its French Quarter counterparts. Nothing remarkable about the place, really. The servers are very polite and accommodating, but prefer to chat with each other rather than the customers. They are very liberal with the samples. Food is classic NOLA fare with a bit of a twist, but disappointing in relation to other NOLA establishments of similar ilk. Biggest disappointment perhaps is only 6 taps, mostly with hoppy beers. It’s a relatively small place, granted, but if you advertise yourself primarily as a bar, you should have at least a dozen taps. As it’s open so late, perhaps it is best as a last stop before you call it a night on the town. Not bad.......just not a preferred place.

A mix of a few local taps and two coolers of bottles. Service and quality was good, solid place.

Found this place during Mardi Gras week, and it became a regular stop on our way in to and out of the Quarter. Very solid bottle/can list, but the draft specials were interesting and often outstanding. For example, I had a Bayou Teche Boucanee (smoked wheat), a Saint Arnold Icon red (dubbel w/ Sorachi Ace hops), and a 40 Arpent milk stout. Also: the fried chicken was killer, and the staff was cool. What else do you need?

Visited February 17, 2014.

Came across this accidentally while wandering the French quarter one morning. It’s quieter than a lot of the other bars around and it’s very open allowing lots of sunlight in. They only have a handful of taps but what caught my eye was a biere de mars by LA 31. Other than they have a couple of other locals like Abita, Parish, and Covington. In bottles they have a ton of stuff from all around like Lazy Magnolia, Tin Roof, Bayou Teche, Dixie, and Saint Arnold. You can also get things like Stone, Green Flash, Sierra Nevada, and Sam Adams. I didn’t eat because I was going to get some red beans and rice at Mothers later.

Quieter spot near the french quarter, with a decent selection of local micros.
