Nice pub on the riverside. All about beer (and spirits). Comfortable. Quick friendly service. About 30 taps and well in excess of 100 bottles (and similar for whiskey). No sign of food. Good value.

Nice little beer pub in Cork. Very warm ambiance, kind service, good selection of craft beer. They have - if I counted well - 25 taps and 1 cask. Some are industrial beers, but selection is varied and interesting. Good amount of Irish craft beers. Average prices.

A very good, almost riverside boozer with a strong beery theme. A bit Dutch brown café, a bit British pub and a bit US craft bar type 3: the old one. There is a growing Irish selection.

best range on draught in Cork, up to six Irish craft beers and some less common overseas offerings. An extensive bottle list is perhaps on the pricey side, but some decent lambics available should the mood take you. Very reasonably priced and well kept cask (with discount for beoir members) Quite Belgian cafe-like in feeling though feels a bit out of place.

When I was living on Cork this place was like my second home. Nice selection with rotative taps and guest beers and a good selection of Irish beers too. Theres no food on the pub but is the same street is a nice pizzeria and you can take your pizza to the Bar. Great, great place!

A good selection of draft, a great selection of whisky and there is an excellent bottle selection also. The only problem is its a bit small so gets full very quickly. You can get food from the next door restaurant (Bierhalle) or Uncle Petes pizza place and eat it in the bar if you like.

BlackHaddock  (1059) The County Time Forgot, England | April 2, 2012
By far the best bar in Cork for a beerhunter, has the look and feel of a Belgian/Dutch cafe to it. Single room with a few chairs outside on the pavement. The floor is wooden, with blue tiles around the bar area. The walls and celling are covered with flags, beer memorabilia and chalkboards listing the beers available. I used the place twice on a cold November Saturday in 2010. At 19.00 the place was quiet and a TV was showing a repeat Rugby match, no one seemed to be watching it (I did, it was of England beating Australia earlier in the day). At 23.00 the place was heaving, a DJ playing classic rock sounds (Brown Sugar, etc, etc). The tap selection was large, the bottle selection huge: I didn’t note them all, but here is a mini list, on tap first; Hoegaarden, Krombacker Pils, Erdinger Wiessbier, Pilsner Urquell, Gulden Draak, Porterhouse Oyster Stout and some Irish Keg stuff as well. The Oyster Stout was to die for, really creamy and rich. The bottles were impressive, some unusual ones in the mix; Harvistoun, Meantime, BrewDog, Brooklyn, Wells Banana Beer and Youngs Double Chocolate to name but a few, plenty of Belgians available too. A very nice place to drink in and as mentioned at the begining, the best bar by far in Cork that I found. I just felt at home straight away.

Really good selection for Ireland. OK bar and more European cafe bar than Irish anything. Nice for a change if you spend much time in the country.

Chilled out bar across from the river. Decent if uninspired selection with some local micros. Overall I preferred the atmosphere of the Abbot so far as Cork beer bars are concerned, but this is a worthy stop as well.
