Strangely laid out but enormous bar; even though it is usually crowded it’s not hard to find a seat. Solid draft list. Same low food standards as every Bulldog but the Northeast location. Often crowded with event attendees of some kind, this place never has the neighborhood feel that the other locations have nurtured; granted it is downtown.

Visited on a Saturday night. Sat at the bar. A much less interesting place than the other locations. I was unhappy with the short pour of my girlfriend’s Pumking. For the next round, I ordered a flight, and two of the beers were different from the menu, which the bartender did not feel the need to tell me at the time of ordering. The doorman was not friendly, nor was a waitress at a table later in the evening. I prefer the other two locations.

Stopped in earlier today after a trip to the Science Museum with the family. Pretty cool place, but only street parking or ramp parking available. At least they have a quarter machine for the parking meters :-) Good selection of brews and they do have flights. though the flights are pre-packaged and the menu indicates no substitutions. The highlight was the nice waitress who helped us save a couple bucks by being creative with our ordering, but the prices were a tad on the high side. $9-13 for a flight of 5 okay beers and $2.50 for a kids root beer, eesh.

I have been here a couple of times. They have a large beer selection and offer seasonal flights. The food is pretty typical bar menu but good. Good place to go after a Wild game.

Beer selection is very excellent. They have a lot of Belgian and Minnesotan beers on tap. They regularly have casks available. I really like their food as well. The tater tot hot dish is awesome as well as their sandwiches. The service can be spotty some times and it can be tough to get a table. Its a popular place and can get very loud.

Very loud, even for earlier in the evening. Food was very good, with interesting selection and it was served quickly. Decent selection of beers, but lots of imports. Some good choices, but could’ve been balanced a little more with a few additional crafts. I’ll go back, but it’s not my go-to destination.

I have been here one time only, and will return at sometime and re-review. It was a Sunday around 3pm The service is slow and poor. Went there with my wife and sat at the bar. After a 5min wait, we were greeted and shown a beer menu. My wife had asked to sample one of the beers on tap, and he acted like she was wasting his time. Meanwhile he never poured me a beer until he came back from the kitchen, and until she decided (which was very quick). At that time we asked to see a menu, upon looking at the menu I noticed the bartender wiping his left hand on his left side of his butt and back of his leg every time he poured beer and had it get on his hands. The odd thing is that he had a bar towel hanging out of his pocket on the right side in the back. After looking at the menu for aprx. 3mins, we shut the menu and sat it on the bar. He looked over at us and nodded, then he left the bar. The other bartender that was there had no contact with us at all. By the time "our" bartender showed back

The place itself is awesome, with a huge granite topped u-shaped bar. Lots of tables and booths around the actual bar. Huge glass windows along 2 walls make for excellent views outside. Lots of high def TV’s playing local sports games. Shuffleboard table and two dart boards keep the cant sit down crowd entertained. Full menu, great selection of fried pub favorites and solid dinner foods. Parking is street only, but I’ve never had a problem finding parking within 1 block. It gets crowded on weekends, so you may have to wait for a place to sit. Beer selection is solid, with approx 40 taps of mixed macro and micro brews. Full bar, booze included. The only problem I had was with the clientele, many of them already drunk and acting obnoxiously. Pseudo frat boy/ sorority girl bar. Other than annoying customers, this place is solid.

Tremendous beer bar - visited on 1.25.09. The website indicates 39 taps and 58 bottles available - lots of good ones in there. Bar is very comfortable, modern, and clean. Lots of high-def TVs, and a great location in an older part of downtown St. Paul. The food is ridiculously good by any metric - we had the "Which Came 1st" sandwich, which is shredded chicken, fried egg, veggies, and garlic mayo - fantastic! This place absolutely gives the Happy Gnome and Muddy Pig a run for their money.
