Visited on a Tuesday evening, right before close. The setup is like most other Total Wine locations I have visited - long aisle of warm beer, available as a single or six pack. Also an area for cool six packs. The selection is vast, with a ton of Texas and import beers. Service was helpful. Between this store and Specs just up the street, you are covered in Dallas.
82 = ★★★½ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
Pleasantly surprised by this place. Beer selection was very good. There are better places out there, in bigger cities. But it was legit. Got numbers of hard to get outside of texas beers, which was nice. Lots of options for pic-six. Prices were a bit steep - higher than other places. But overall, well worth the stop. I picked up about 10 six packs of new things. No one around to help, though. It was a Saturday afternoon and they were not overly busy. But I couldn’t find anyone to answer any questions about their selection.
Your typical big box type store. They usually have a good selection of bottles, and have hard to finds up at the front counter with some sort of a limit on them. The service isn’t the greatest, neither is the sales peoples knowledge of beer. I do like that they have a large selection of singles to mix your own 6pk.
Typical big box store with tons of selection and very little in the way of help. Build your own six is nice, but overall this has lots of variety but lots of stale beer as well. There are better in just walking distance.
Nice store located within spitting distance from Perry’s, Whole Foods and Specs. I actually like Total Wine the best out of all four because you can get almost any beer in singles. Also have huge selections of wine and spirits.
Giant box store with a lot of traffic in and out. This place was moving a LOT of alcohol in the middle of the day! Employees everywhere and plenty of register lines open. Multiple aisles of single bottles as well as six packs. Most of them were warm on the shelves because they just don’t have the cooler space for all the brews.
Usually "big box" type stores are a turn off to me. However, I love me some Total Wine for beer selection. They cater to the type of folk who like to mix and match beers, while keeping a good selection of 4 & 6 packs, too. Totally is a "go to" place when you want a great selection and helpful friendly folks! (I like the Dallas location WAY better than the Ft. Worth location, BTW)
