Stopped here today for the first time. Odd location on rt 1 tucked in behind a motel of sorts. Inside is smaller than it looks as your walking in, but they do have a nice looking patio area outside as well. It was early and I sat at the bar. Maybe 10 taps but they are well thought out with a local focus and a pretty decent bottle list.Decent menu I had the stuffed pretzel du jour and it was tasty. It was slow, but the bartender was friendly and attentive. Two beers and an appetizer were $22 so a little pricey. Boxes of vinyl albums and a constantly moving turntable. I’m told if you ask nicely you can pick the next record. Great vibe, nice place, I wish it were closer!

Alex and the gang at Whym do it right. There is always something new and delicious on tap, their food is top notch, and the service is fantastic. What more could you ask for?

What an interesting place. This beer bar is tucked away in the back of a motel / apartment complex, but it’s worth seeking out. The owners are doing a great job with finding interesting, well curated beer taps, and it’s a great place to alternatively gab about beer or just relax and listen to whatever’s playing on the vinyl. The outside courtyard / beer garden is great too in the summertime!

Lunch on a slow day. Nicely decorated rooms, open and spacious, but I can see where it might get crowded very easily. menu offered a small variety of items, but not a lot of choice within a given genre. Many items are Belgian themed, though not authentic. Beer selection is good, weighted heavily towards Belgian styles. Food was mixed: Burger was good, wife’s mac and cheese was very light on cheese (gouda) and tasted mostly of plain macaroni elbows in a white sauce. Service was very good, maybe due to the lack of other people present, but the staff was very attentive and informative on the menu and beer selections.

Not a very big place, but perfect for its purpose. As some have stated, it’s located next to the Wren’s Nest Inn, which can be perceived as an odd location, but once you’re in there, you really don’t want to leave. Very knowledgeable staff, very friendly, Alex and Gretchin are great! Food and atmosphere are fantastic, there’s a nice area by the fireplace, and a cool little alcove that has table setup inside. I have yet to go out on the patio area, but we really like to stay inside and chat with the awesome staff. Beer selection is fantastic, while it certainly doesn’t boast "100+ beers on tap" like some places, the choices are well thought out and I’ve found myself trying beers I probably wouldn’t have seen in one of the larger places. The right glassware is used and the beertenders are skilled with pours and explanations. While it’s a bit of a distance from where we live, my wife and I make it a point to visit with a regular frequency. You should pay them visit, you won’t be disappointed!

My kind of place. So much better than the typical beer bar you see opening these days. This place serves great beer, uses the proper glassware and highlights the local stuff. I will definitely stop by anytime I am in the area. Wish them all the success going forward.

I don’t understand the low score on this place. The owners are obviously beer geeks. This shows with the well thought out tap selection, correct glassware and the best assortment of modern beer literature I’ve seen in a pub. The ambiance of the place is fantastic. It’s basically like being in a cabin, except with awesome beer. There’s an ultra cozy spot by the fireplace which is where I post up. Beer selection has a lot of regional offerings and runs a nice gamut of styles. I had a spicy chicken fritter appetizer which was nothing short of delicious. The bartender was great too. Even considering the great beer selection, the great service and tasty food, the ambiance was the winner. It is very strange that it is in the middle of an inn, but once inside I found myself not wanting to leave.

Stopped in on a lazy summer, Tuesday Evening. I chatted with Alex the owner about home brewing and beer. He was polite and talkative and his bartender seems nice as well. I stopped in for the Blue Lobster brews and he also hand Throwback, Stone, Founders, Young’s Chocolate Stout, Saison Dupont, Ommegang and a few other real nice selections on draft. I didn’t get a chance to eat on this trip but I plan on stopping in again in the near future. Well worth a stop. It’s possible to miss the sign on Route 1, so make the phone call if you can’t quite find it.

The seacoast NH region has been waiting for a good craft beer centric bar for some time now, and WHYM delivers it in spades. The tap selection is usually a mix of locals "neighbors" and "long term relationships" (imports and from across the country). Though a small list, it is always changing and contains great, hard-to-find selections, especially of great but small brewers from NH like Blue Lobster. The food is inspired - the pretzels with three kinds of dip are perfect and everything is paired very well with or made with some kind of beer or beer ingredient. I haven’t had anything I’ve not liked. Just opened recently, so I think that there will be a lot more traffic in there as time goes on. It’s become a spot that I wish I was closer to, because I’d be one of the regulars in there for sure.
