A German- style restaurant near the center of Helsinki. This is probably the closest you’ll get to a german eating experience in Helsinki now that Haus Berg has closed. The selection is limited, and German, but I find the food and feeling of the place excellent. German dishes, quite well done, and matching interiour.

A German restaurant located in Kruununhaka, the old Helsinki city centre from 19th century. The place is furnished in traditional German style with pretty good results. The menu comprises traditional German dishes like Schlachtplatte, Eisbein, Landente and Wienerschnitzel. At lunchtime between 11 AM and 2 PM an affordable three-course lunch is available. There are always at least three German beers on tap, one of which is Hefe-Weizen, and rather wide sortiment of German bottles. Mönchshof is one of the regular breweries represented. The food is great, if you enjoy German courses. The beer sortiment is not among the widest in Helsinki, but again, if it’s German beer you are after, then this is definitely one of the places to visit. During the Oktoberfest in the autumn traditional Oktoberfest beer is available, and there is a special menu with traditional Oktoberfest dishes.
