Kind of crazy the difference between this GE Market and the one down the road. The Grandview location has about twice the taps and they regularly rotate through some of the latest crafts to hit town. This one is much more limited and rarely has anything both new and highly rated. Much smaller bar area consisting of one strip of 6 stools that isn’t sectioned off from the grocery traffic at all. They also have a bar menu (w/ solid fish and chips). Standard grocery selection of bottles right next to the bar. I’ll occasionally get a pint while shopping or a mix six pack, but GE Grandview is much better overall.

Really weak spot. 8 drafts and on the day I show its a Southern Tier takeover, all 8 were Southern Tier. That’s horrendous. The bottle selection was equally weak, didn’t even have any Columbus IPA. This is a miss for me.

Stopped in here on a Thursday mid morning. The beer selection is to the right of the store and has its own entrance. Lots of singles available and a good selection ofoOhio brewed beer and lots of imports, but didn’t have anything crazy. I built a six pack of local beers I hadn’t had yet for $10. If I’m was in the neighborhood, I might stop back in to check their beer selection.

(Visited 09/2012): Giant Eagle is located in Upper Arlington between Northwest and Tremont in a shopping plaza. There is a large parking lot shared by the stores.

The beer section is on the right side and is kept in coolers and on shelves.

As with more and more grocery stores these days, Giant Eagle has a fairly extensive collection of beers. Domestic craft brewers are well-represented, including many Ohio breweries like Great Lakes, CBC, Thirsty Dog, Rivertown and others. Many imports from Germany, the UK and Belgium as well. Some singles available.

Service is pretty typical for a grocery store.

All in all you probably won’t find much in the way of one-offs or extremely limited edition brews at a store like this but they carry just about all the common craft breweries one would want.
