CLOSED!!! Nice while it lasted. Beautiful place to sit and watch people and dine on respectable food. The beer was always less than drinkable but good bloody marys. http://www.hornygoatbrewco.com/thank-you/ http://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/blog/table_talk/2015/10/horny-goat-hideaway-closing-brewpub-beer.html http://www.biztimes.com/2015/10/06/horny-goat-hideaway-closing-sunday/

Visited August 2012 on the way out of Madison after GTMW.

Man, what a place. Located in a crappy neighborhood and across from an abandoned building with a lot of broken windows, this place makes you regret looking it up. What’s odd is how nice this place is in such a dumpy part of town. Not sure what river it’s on but it’s right on the water and there are some slips to dock a boat, should you decide to drive the boat to your local brewery. There was also a high school volley ball tournament going on so we had to park in the back of a dirt parking lot. Out front were some fixed up cars that were either being sold there or if it was a local company advertising their work. All that said, the facility is nice. We sat outside on the patio by the water and ordered lunch and a round of samplers.

The beer was pretty bad overall, the food was OK, and the service was friendly but a bit slow. The best beer was the watermelon wheat which is also bottled so it wouldn’t surprise me if it was contract brewed somewhere else. This place is just so weird. Glad I stopped but I have no desire to drink more of their beer.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon in July and was pleasantly surprised, maybe finding different than what I expected. The building looks like an old armory, but has a nice river-side setting, and the outdoor bar is kinda like what you get on a Florida beach. The bartender was friendly, but wasn’t unlike the redneck bartenders in Florida, either. Decent beers. Didn’t eat ... looked like normal American bar food. (Brewery #619)

The food was a bit greasy, but tasted good. It’s been too long (over 3 months) since I was there and can’t really remember a beer really standing out, so I’d have to say there was nothing outstanding or bad about them. Pretty average overall, but I liked the setting. I’ll be back to give the beer another try.

The HG beer is really only OK, I enjoy the IPA, but not much else. The guest taps when they have them are typically another local downtown. I enjoyed the food. The outdoor area next to the river is one of the best places in town to hang out and enjoy a beer and a view. Lots of games to play and a big sand V-Ball area.

Maybe the best outdoor bar in Milwaukee. Unfortunately the beer sucks. Great place to hang out with friends. Don’t expect good beef.

Loud and noisy filled with plenty of drunken young 20 somethings, definitely not my pint of ale. Their beer is freaking awful, someone needs to show the brewmaster a style guide as he has no clue on what to do. I guess it fits in with Milwaukee’s beer scene, we just don’t have a great brewpub, but we a bunch of sub-par ones like this place. The burger I had was decent - the Smokey Robinson with pulled pork and onion rings and my waitress was very friendly. They had about 10 of their beers on tap this visit.

The wait is always way to long. They told us there was a 2 hour wait for a table and when there was a table ready right in front of us. We inquired and found out that this table had been reserved 3 hours from then. They need to get the seating down better. The Beer was great and the building is pretty cool. The food was also very good.

This place has an amazing patio right on the river. It’s always fun. Great pizzas and I love the beer.
